This has to be one of the most hilariously bad "horror" films of the 80s. In order to try and convince you to cover the movie, I took notes for a random five minute segment of the movie. Notes are as follows: look for the Tim Curry in Rocky Horror doll that adorns the electric chair in the funhouse; using a dead magician's handkerchief to cover his face; "I told him to go to hell. Wanna get some coffee?"; and last but not least, the teacup ride that is apparently made out of nitroglycerin.

That's just five minutes of this debacle. I hope you guys find the time for this one, it's worth it.

There's also Ghoulies 3: Ghoulies Go To College, where the Ghoulies actually speak. Really, any of these movies is probably worth covering.

I was going to post a new topic for the original Ghoulies but I think this one is good enough, and I completely agree with seanotron: any one of these movies would be perfect for HDTGM.

Ghoulies:

Ghoulies II:

Ghoulies Go To College:

This is one of the reasons this podcast is so great... Without them even doing any of the movies I've suggested, even just going back and picking movies that I've seen in the past to recommend brings back so many hilarious memories. I've only seen the first Ghoulies and had no idea the others even existed, so that's a nice bonus too.

If I had to recommend just one, just say fuck it and go with Ghoulies Go To College. It seems like the most ridiculous and inexplicably has the best cast out of all three movies, and it's also trying desperately to imitate other popular college movies of that era in film (just a decade too late).

I would do the first one. It's the only one that everybody seen. I didn't even know there was a two and three till I read this. Unless two and three of got some over-the-top actors and plot twist that just don't work I'd stay with the original Apple

Yeah I think you're right, Jarry. As great as it would be to do the third movie as their first and only episode on this series, it just makes more sense to do the first one. I hope they'll consider it!
