SlidePocket 707 Posted November 23, 2013 Winner of 3 Razzie Awards, 1992's Shining Through showcases Melanie Griffith as a secretary joining a mission in World War II as a spy while in love with her boss Michael Douglas. Pretty silly romantic war film that also features a pre-Schindler's List Liam Neeson as the main villain. Â Share this post Link to post
Johnny Unusual 525 Posted November 26, 2013 Someone who made the trailer said "yeah, this is basically Miller's Crossing". Â Share this post Link to post
sillstaw 414 Posted November 27, 2013 According to the Razzies movie guide, on the publicity tour for the movie, Melanie Griffith responded to a reporter's question about the Holocaust with, and I quote, "Wow! Six million... that's a lot of people!" Their response is perfect: "Is 'Shining Through' what happens when you hold a flashlight up to one of Ms. Griffith's ears?" 1 Share this post Link to post
SlidePocket 707 Posted April 4, 2014 According to a source about this movie on Wikipedia, during the making of Shining Through, Melanie Griffith became aware for the very first time in her life, that Germans had done bad things to Jews during World War II, and she was quite outraged about it. This earned her the nickname "brainiac" which was used in Toronto-area print media for some time afterward. 1 Share this post Link to post
