No, I am not leaving "of the Galaxy 2" off of the title, and yes this movie will not be released for a year, but look at this trailer:

 

 

Guardians looks like it has the potential to be over the top insane fun ala later Fast & Furious moves/Crank. It has a werebear with a chain gun for fuck's sake! I hope this movie turns out as good as it looks in the trailer.

saw that a while back, looks like x-men crossed with the avengers crossed with ... well, pretty much every big movie from the last few years.

 

by the looks of it next year will be a big year for russian sci-fi. this trailer came out a while back too .. no idea whats going on but it looks like it might have a few good moments in it

With any luck, China's "Empires of the Deep" will finally see the light of day next year. It would fit nicely with these Russian swings and misses. At the very least, these foreign productions are ambitious.

I loved loved loved this bad bad Movie!

I had seen the trailer a few years ago (Thank you Nerdist) and was honestly stoked to check it out. I liked "Night Watch (2004)" and "Day Watch (2006)" and was curious to see the Russian take on a superhero movie. Moments into this disaster, it was clear this is going to be epic. 

The four "superheros" are an invisible girl that, i think, just turns into water, a guy that can manipulate rocks and Earth(?), a speedster swordsman, and a man-bear or were-bear guy who is issued a mini-gun that is belt fed through a back pack. The villain is a weird Bane knockoff; the Bane from "Batman & Robin" not "The Dark Knight Rises". His objective is to hack into the world's satellites in order to control the world's machines. His powers work on some machines but not all?? and he needs to steal the Russian version of the Space Needle to do it. WHAT?!?

I tried to describe this movie to my wife and just found myself hysterically laughing.

Guardians is available on Amazon Prime! I watched this recently and wow it is sure trying to be the Avengers, but isn't quite right. The Man/Bear with a gatling gun is amazing. Having it dubbed in English usually bothers me, but while watching this trainwreck with good but not good enough special effects, it was the least of my worries. 

If people here knew what it was, through the podcast or some other way, I think this would become a cult classic for the bad movie, laughing out loud crowd!

Just watched this thanks to Quarantine; Holy Cow this is bad! No idea if the English dub makes it bad, or if it was just that bad to begin with. Favorite line, “you were beaten last time because of your lack of access to rocks”

And just in case you needed another reason to watch, there is a Man-bear with a backpack minigun!

I don't think HDTGM has done a Russian film yet and if you are going to do one, do this one! Its just Russian Avengers, but dumbed way down. Plus it bombed so bad that it bankrupted the studio that made it, literally.  Everyone would have a blast doing it. Its on Amazon Prime and Tubi TV and worth a watch as it has a lot going on, but it is so weird and has a robust 3.9/10 on IMDB and was made for the equivalent of $5 million which is impressive in its own weird way. But the bear with a backpack mini gatling gun, come on!
