I saw the trailer for this well before it came out and thought it looked completely awesome in an intentionally so-bad-it’s-good kind of way.

Then I finally caught it on Netflix in 2014 and it was underwhelming. It was 50% the intentionally-ridiculous action movie that I had been promised, and 50% a weird, artsy-fartsy (and I say this as a creative video artist of sorts myself) analogy about audiences and consumerism that doesn’t work in the slightest. Really hackneyed stuff like  an audience consuming poisoned food to symbolize audiences consuming garbage entertainment.
