The Horror of Showgirls, The Storyline of The Room, The production values of Sleepaway Camp! Pia Goddamn Zadora. The titular song! Please tell me that I'm not the only one on the forum who witnessed this.

Nope, I guess not. I watched the trailer, and I guess I have seen this at some point. It's a weird one but not totally worth seeking out unless you really like Pia Zadora (I will admit I have a certain fondness for her).

 

If we're talking Pia Zadora (that name! Why isn't my name that fun?) movies, then clearly the correct choice is Voyage Of The Rock Aliens:

What a amazing find, I love the fake devo band btw. we couldn't get devo but we got the next best thing..

Plus Jermaine Jackson that really sells the movie..

Not to discredit that amazing looking trailer, but it just feels like it's treading "Killer Klowns from Outer Space/Meant to be Silly" territory.

 

Pia called The Lonely Lady "A Cross Between 'Emmanualle' and 'Rocky'", which leads me to believe that this was meant to be a story of a woman who sexes her way to the top only to lose, which, to quote June, was REALLY Upsetting. This movie doesn't seem to have any sense of what we should get out of it. I mean, Pia is forced to go lesbian TWICE in order to get her screenplay considered. And does eveyone else realize that Ray Liotta is in this?!? And that this story may have been based on the life of Jacqueline Susann?!? Bananas.

That has to be the most lovingly shot "fan"-trailer for this trashy of a movie. And to reiterate, the scoring and soundtrack are insane.

for the love of all that is holy, please do this movie!!! I never sign up for anything, nor do I haunt message boards but I did because a) I fucking love HDTGM and b) by not doing this movie I believe your missing the point of the show entirely. I kid. But seriously, please do this movie. Pia Zadora came by the Camelot records I worked at on the press tour so I have a personal stake in this but I can assure you that it has all of the everything that you're looking for in a movie for the pod. 5 STARS!!!
