    I also don’t understand the Archangel Gabriel thing and Kate going to Heaven. Because vampire lore is already steeped in religion, which is kind of a problem for modern audiences that aren’t all Roman Catholic. (I remember a vicious debate in Buffy fandom if a Star or David could repel a vampire like a cross.)  So why would you make it MORE religious?

    Troop Beverly Hills is a THANK GOD this got made film.  7 year old me straight up refused to return to Girl Scouts because it was not enough like TBH. Nary a Fashion show or Freddie dance break to be found. Also we were too young to sell cookies and I was all about getting access to those Thin Mints ( I still am and all my friends children know this. )

    But yea, I think Paul mentioned that June wants them do to a LMN movie but I dunno, Harry & Meghan isn't quite the same category as those old weird ones. We need a couple real ones picked here to satisfy June (and me). There was a crazy one where Yasmine Bleeth had a face transplant or something like that. I used to watch so many of those in university, and they've all stuck with me for some reason.

    Oh God I love that stuff. 90's Lifetime is amazing!!

    So did anyone else find the Child Catcher antisemitic? I mean it checks out because... Fucking Roald Dahl . If you don't know he was a racist antisemitic scum bag .

    A truly terrible quote from him “There is a trait in the Jewish character that does provoke animosity, maybe it’s a kind of lack of generosity towards non-Jews. I mean, there’s always a reason why anti-anything crops up anywhere; even a stinker like Hitler didn’t just pick on them for no reason.”  

    So there's that. So it's not that hard to feel gross about a  very blatant Jewish caricature that steals children. Something Jewish people have been accused of for centuries. They have been accused of killing Christian children to make matzos. It's a disgusting old antisemitic belief that Jewish people take part in blood libel. When children would get sick or go missing Jews were often blamed.

    Ooh boy do I have some thoughts! First thank you again for hosting @Cinco DeNioI had SO much fun watching with you!  On to my thinky thoughts!

    First off this family is FUCKED!!

    The kids are a hair's breadth away from being full on feral. DVD is an awful father. Those kids are entitled(yet  woefully neglected )little shits. 1. What gives them the right to play in someone's place of business and 2. Of all the businesses to loiter in why the junk yard?  3. How dare they lose this guy a sale and declare that their dad will get them their favorite playscape?  4. Those kids are full of tetanus and are seconds away from blood poisoning setting in from frolicking in the scrap metal. I'm shocked they can even work their jaws.

    These children can't possibly be truant because they have never seen the inside of a school. Also this is a time of child workers so I feel like it's not unusual for kids to not be in school.just wondering around like bums yeah that's odd. But not being in school itself isn't.felt

    All in all this family is why CPS was invented.

    I don't remember it all but I know I came up with two really stupid (but fun at the time ) conspiracy theories about how 1. DVD's character is actually really Burt from Mary Poppins (this is a Sherman film). He is saddled with the children that came from a dalliance with Mary Poppins because we all know she doesn't want kids of her own and peaced the fuck out. He must hide because these children now posses her eldritch powers. Or 2. 

    Mrs.DVD faked her death to get the fuck away from this bullshit. Or DVD killed her with an invention.

    Oh I once watched a Spanish Fast and the Furious ripoff called Combustion which was pretty terrible if they want to branch out into foreign films. that would be a good one

    I mean anything with Tori Spelling is a yes! Not to date myself but I would love for them to do the cheesy great Original Disney Channel Movies from the 90's and early 2000's like  Smart House, The Luck Of The Irish or The 13th Year about that boy mermaid. I know I got drunk and found one with a young Katherine Heigl where she and her younger sister switch bodies and its... Something. They have a scene where the older sister in younger sister's body goes to school dressed as a dominatrix and puts on a show at lunch which is uncomfortable as fuck.

    Can *I* say Queen of the Dammed? Because it must be talked about!

     I don't really have a top five but I do have a number one and that is Showgirls.  I find new movies I want them to cover every so often but Showgirls has been my constant. WE HAVE TO TALK ABOUT THIS BONKERS FILM!

    So I saw Paul and June's place in Variety because they are selling and can I just say they have amazing taste and I would expect nothing less from the great June Diane (also Paul). On a scale of one to restraining order how creepy would it be  to call in to ask where they got the bed in the photo series? Is Casper sending podcasters stunning canopy beds now?

    So I did not watch this movie. I did not understand much of the podcast, but it sounds like I wouldn't understand it even if I saw it. I read a couple of true crime books lately,  and I'm really kind of sick of how media makes serial killers seem cool (no snowman pun intended) and smart. Or the whole Ted Bundy was hot thing on Twitter. I can't.

    But anyway, I don't know anything about Norway but I was listening to this thinking "are there really that many serial killers running around Norway?" I thought it was a safe place to live. So I found some Norway crime statistics and it says 24 people were murdered in Norway in 2015 (the most recent available data). By comparison, the FBI reports the United States had 15,696 murders that year. I think Jo Nesbo has murdered more fictional people than have actually been murdered in Norway.

    I don't know where I'm going with this, but I think it's weird that we WANT violence where there isn't violence because it's "interesting"?

    I also didn't see the movie but that's because I'm trying not support media with  abusers in it. And Michael Fassbender has a history of domestic abuse. It makes me so uncomfortable .

    Sorry I missed this week you guys! I was really looking forward to it! My cat Albus had to have two emergency (minor) surgeries . One on Thursday and one again Monday when I noticed he was bleeding. I just got him home and he seems to be MUCH better. The vet staff pretty much wanted to keep him forever lol. He was eating everything in sight though they said.

    So in the audience someone asked about Princess Michael of Kent. Princess Michael of Kent's father was a know member of the Nazi party. So right off the bat fuck that family. The brooch in question is a " blackmoor" brooch  . Blackmoor jewelry depicts exoticized figurines of Africans and are in really bad taste. She claims to have done it as a " mistake " but this is the same bitch who yelled at a group of African American diners in New York to and I quote (from her correcting the media)   " I did not say “back to the colonies,” I said you “should remember the colonies.” Back in the days of the colonies, there were rules that were very good.”  Because you know that's not weird and fucked up. You know the colonies a time of SLAVERY. 

    then there's THE FUCKING TIME SHE ADMITTED TO PRETENDING TO BE BLACK
