  1. To be honest, I do not know what Red Letter Media is, but I am glad HDTGM pre-dates them.
  2. It is the same general concept, but it is not nearly as funny and I am not really sure they are trying to be. They also say they are doing good movies as well that shouldn't be reviewed as highly. Maybe its because they have to keep it PG rated, but it just wasn't as entertaining as HDTGM. Next week they are doing Mortal Kombat, so they are just copying the HDTGM in a less funny manner.

    Jacob's Ladder (2019)

Will there be a Jacob's Ladder scenario? It is at 5% on Rotten Tomatoes and its a shame as I quite like Michael Ealy.
  4. Rotten Tomatoes released their worst movie sequels of all time. To qualify for the list, a movie needed at least 10 official critic reviews so I am sure some older sequels were left off for that reason. https://editorial.rottentomatoes.com/guide/worst-sequels-of-all-time/ How many of these has HDTGM done? Speed 2, Highlander 2, am I missing any others? There are some such as Son of Mask or any of the Baby Genius movies that would work for future episodes. What sequels are missing from this list that should be there?

    Episode 246 - Swordfish: LIVE!

For reasons I still do not know, I had a copy of the Swordfish soundtrack on CD and the entire soundtrack is done by Paul Oakenfold, the techno guy. From what I recall it was not very good, maybe the lapdance song is good, the rest is forgettable. Just an odd memory from my high school or college days, wonder if I still have it somewhere. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Swordfish_(soundtrack)

    A Sound of Thunder (2005)

Please make this the first live show once things get back to normal!!! Thanks

    Mindhunters (2004)

I remember seeing a trailer before another movie for this a couple years before it was released, must have been bumped. I thought it was interesting and then forgot about it until I saw a tv ad years later and had a weird deja vu moment where I thought it was all a dream or similar film, but it turns out it was the same film. Separate from all that I haven't seen it in a few years but I have seen it a couple times and enjoyed it both times. I know its not a good movie, but it is certainly enjoyable and delivers what it intends to. Think its too "good" to be on HDTGM but the marionette scene certainly qualifies. It is available on Hoopla, the library app, which proves that it is a piece of worthwhile cinematic art.

    Virus (1999)

This is based on a comic or graphic novel? A video game? Toys? Did they think this was going to be some type of hit? Even if they did a good job, this isn't the type of movie that would generally spawn merch and toy sales. WTF

    Virus (1999)

This one seems to have slipped off the radar, but it is crazy bad, but somehow super fun to watch at the same time. I have no idea why Donald Sutherland is in it, Jamie Lee Curtis regrets being in it. It is about a mechanical virus on an abandoned ship, and the Donald Sutherland/monster is just one of the nuttiest things in any movie I have ever seen. I think they would have a blast with it, though June would probably not be happy she saw it, but they would all have questions for days! Put this on your short list!

    Soul Man (1986)

Based on the premise alone, this movie has to get covered. It is a legitimate "How Did This Get Made?" question, who thought this was a good idea to create? If anything its too controversial for the podcast to do right now. Or the perfect time to do it, one or the other.

    Lone Wolf McQuade (1983)

Has HDTGM done any Chuck Norris movies other than Top Dog? For just a pure action movie, I think the podcast would do a great job with Lone Wolf McQuade. Hadn't thought about this movie for a while but I saw it in high school maybe on DVD and really loved it, but it is crazy!
  12. It seems to be a pretty solid list, as they mention the film needs 20 certified critic reviews to get on the list so its a bit biased towards more recent films. Many like My Demon Lover for example, only have 3 critic reviews so it isn't eligible. I didn't count how many on here have been done by HDTGM, but there appear to be a few more that I know should be done, or by the descriptions and critic reactions may make very good candidates. Any others you can't believe are not on this list? https://editorial.rottentomatoes.com/guide/worst-movies-of-all-time/

    Sudden Death (1995)

First of all, this movie is awesome and wild and I need to watch it again and the podcast shouldn't definitely do it. Secondly, on September 29, a "sequel" called Welcome to Sudden Death is being released, starring Michael Jai White, https://www.imdb.com/title/tt10804786/?ref_=nv_sr_srsg_0! But why couldn't JCVD do the sequel? They just switched hockey to basketball. Did we need this "sequel" 25 years later?

    Episode #245 - Money Plane

The Ringer did an oral history on Money Plane: https://www.theringer.com/movies/2020/7/14/21320061/money-plane-oral-history-kelsey-grammer Asked 9 questions about it: https://www.theringer.com/movies/2020/7/10/21319193/money-plane-questions-kelsey-grammer-the-edge-vod And did an exit survey on it: https://www.theringer.com/movies/2020/7/13/21322693/money-plane-review-exit-survey-kelsey-grammer-edge Seems like this movie is getting recognition for all the wrong reasons! Good choice for the podcast.

    Guardians (2017)

I don't think HDTGM has done a Russian film yet and if you are going to do one, do this one! Its just Russian Avengers, but dumbed way down. Plus it bombed so bad that it bankrupted the studio that made it, literally. Everyone would have a blast doing it. Its on Amazon Prime and Tubi TV and worth a watch as it has a lot going on, but it is so weird and has a robust 3.9/10 on IMDB and was made for the equivalent of $5 million which is impressive in its own weird way. But the bear with a backpack mini gatling gun, come on!

    Ricochet (1991)

I have never even heard of this movie, but from your posts it sounds perfect for the podcast. May have to watch it on HBO!
  17. Here are a few movies that HDTGM could certainly do, as recommended by a Blockbuster employee in quarantine and working from home:

    Money Plane (2020)

This isn't even on Redbox yet (Aug 4), but yeah I saw a preview for it and it seems like the type of film that has some promise for a HDTGM episode. But has anyone seen it yet? Robbing a casino on a plane!
  19. Nobody has talked about Deep Blue Sea 2? It is the exact same movie as the original, pretty much the same beats, minus chef, and a much much lower budget and not from the genius mind of Renny Harlin so it is garbage. Deep Blue Sea 3 comes out next month, presumably on Netflix. Perhaps an episode combining 2 & 3 together would be fun?

    Replicas (2019)

I saw this and its not memorable and certainly not good but easy to watch and liked the general idea behind it. The Keanu bot is certainly HDTGM worthy, but I will say the film itself is not.

    Shakes the Clown (1991)

Directed by and starring Bobcat Goldwait, it is a dark comedy about a depressed alcoholic clown who is framed for murder. It includes a very young Adam Sandler and an uncredited Robin Williams cameo. It has been called the "Citizen Kane of alcoholic clown movies." It only made $115,000 in theaters. I have not seen this, but it seems like the type of film that could certainly qualify for HDTGM. For anyone who has seen it, what did you think of it?!?

    Artemis Fowl (2020)

I haven't seen the film nor read the series of books it is based on, but it cost $125 million and was supposed to start a movie franchise. It is directed by Kenneth Branagh, but COVID-19 made Disney dump it on Disney+ and the reviews have not been scathing, rather that the entire film is just dull and hard to understand.

    Yellowbeard (1983)

I had never heard of this movie but I was talking with a friend of mine yesterday and he mentioned that he watched this movie a lot growing up and that its really bad and has a very talented cast. I looked it up and Eric Idle said it is by far the worst movie he has ever done and my friend said the movie is not appropriate for kids and quite wild. He seemed to have fond memories of it. As someone who hasn't seen it, does it deserve to be done or is it actually an enjoyable film?
  24. So Roger Ebert says one way to determine if a film is going to be bad: Box Rule: Useful rule-of-thumb about movie advertisements that have a row of little boxes across the bottom, each one showing the face of a different international star and the name of a character (e.g., “Curt Jurgens as the Commandant”). The rule is: Automatically avoid such films. Example: “'The Cassandra Crossing,” “'Force 10 from Navarone,” and most films made from Agatha Christie novels. Well look at the Don't Her It's Me movie poster. Apparently everyone did know this as nobody saw this film and I had never ever heard of it until the other day in the mini episode.
