Do you watch more bad movies since you started listening to HDTGM
Lando posted a topic in How Did This Get Made?
I'm talking in general, not the ones that they do on the podcast. I find myself watching bad movies just in case they end up doing them on HDTGM. -
One of my favorite things in the movie is when they're creating Blanka and they have a bunch of neon IV bags labeled "DNA Mutagen"
-
So two things. 1) This movie IS coming to Netflix Streaming on May 1 according to my Roku app that tells me what's coming soon. If you really really want to watch it you can get it there. 2) A while back one of the lead developers of Street Fighter: The Movie: The Game popped up on the internet and recounted and answered questions about the process of making the game. Unfortunately the blog has disappeared, but the thread where he recounted the movie still exists and is still well worth a read: http://forums.shoryuken.com/discussion/21457/street-fighter-the-movie-broke-my-heart

JCVD's best movie is JCVD

I got it... Glengarry Glen Ross! Wait, no... The One!

I think it takes brass balls to kill off all of your other copies. -

I'm not saying it was a bad idea from a quality perspective, but I think it was a bad business idea. It didn't do so well at the box office, and I think part of it was there wasn't a lot of excitement from people who remembered the 1st movie.

Instead Dredd made the mistake of remaking a movie that was poorly received the 1st time.

I watched this movie last night and enjoyed the shit out of parts of this movie. It made me wish I had seen it in 3D

Objectively crummy? Let's see this movie: - Won the AFI Award for Best Movie of 2012 - Has an 8.0 on IMDB - 92% positive on Rotten Tomatoes with 88% of users liking it - Nominated for Best Picture and 7 other Academy Awards Yup, sounds like an "objectively crummy" movie to me. For the record, I haven't even seen it, it doesn't sound like a movie I would love, but this is a very odd suggestion for this podcast.

I believe that someone did suggest High Fidelity a couple of months ago.
-
A lot of people seem to think that "I didn't like this movie" = "mock-worthy by comedians"

Don't you know? Big smooth jazz has a tight grip on Vegas.

No Dead Ringers fans? It's like The Prestige, but if Christian Bale's character was a gynecologist instead of a magician.

Al Pacino as Phil Spector
Lando replied to choochoo_the_wonder_slut's topic in How Did This Get Made?
Prosecutor: Why did you shoot her? Spector: 'cause she got a GREAT ASS!!!! -
From what I remember about this movie is that Daniel Baldwin's character is always eating something until he becomes a vampire.

That's me. I love this podcast, so that's my way of trying to add something of value to it. One thing I find interesting is how many times there are repeat actors, but not repeat directors. Joel Joel Schumacher is on there twice for Tresspass and Batman & Robin, and you could say that Bill Condon is on there 2x, but it's for two movies in the same series, but almost every other director is on there only once. There are plenty of directors who could be on there multiple times (M. Night Shyamalan and Roland Emmerech come to mind), and with time probably will.

I watched this last night, and I think that this is in line with Sleepaway Camp. It has: - A child of rape-centric plot - Cannibalism - A bad prosthetic monster - Some inexplicable, tenuous ties to cicadas This movie is, as Jason would put it "bonkers." Here's the trailer: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eMwoMmHke_s

I remember that they were pretty bold for being in a town with nearly invincible creatures. I liked the concept, but thought it had weak execution.
-
Yes, it's called JCVD

I was pretty disappointed by that one, I just felt like nobody in the film acted anything remotely like anyone in that type of situation would. That is always the most frustrating sin in a horror movie.
-
Have you ever heard their debut "With Sympathy?" That sounds nothing like Ministry and I wonder if that's what they were going after. I saw this movie on a date and remember people walking out of the theater. Since then I have come to realize that Josh Harntett staring in a movie is a sign that I will not enjoy it (Blackhawk Down being the only exception)
-
I enjoy Waterworld, I think this one would be like Fast 5, where it's ridiculous, but fun to do.
-
So is it just terrible, or would it make good HDTGM material? I added it to my queue when I saw it as well, from what I saw it's a remake of a movie that was poorly received to begin with.

Blind Guardian is the kind of music that Andre Nowzick would have listened to in high school and college. And I say that as someone who owns several BG albums and has seen them live.
