Episode 41 — Jason Nash, Our Close Friend
Scooby Donkers replied to agata's topic in Hollywood Handbook
1) November 19th. I'll be 28. I have the inescapable sense that I've wasted untold, irretrievable time, assuaged only by the fact that I'd likely have this feeling regardless of my path/choices. 2) i just spent the last ever Friday night at the original, legendary Improve Olympic theater in Wrigleyville, Chicago (as an audience member, not performer). They're moving to I'm pretty new to the place (as a student), but it feels nice and special, so I'll report it here with pride. 3) Dear Alex, I'm also Jewish (half) and from Chicago, but I'm from real Chicago & the south side, so does that make me cooler & better than you? Obviously I'll move to Highland Park when I get rich and famous, so please explain why it's better than my native Hyde Park (Obamatown), aside from the black/brown people thing. -

Traditional schooling just conditions us to be safe little cogs in the machine, man. You don't get a truly original thinker like SC from a robot factory, dude. Reading is just a crutch. It's like, open your eyes, bro, reeeally open em right up & take a good, hard look around. You may not like what you see. I'M OUT DEUCES BRO PEACE IN THE MIDDLE EAST -

Dear Sinbad, When will you turn your talents to summer blockbusters to make a CGI driven version of Sinbad the Sailor? Also too, in that documentary about the Doogie Howser president, would you say the White House was more of a "Fun House?" Plus, did you ever have relations in the Lincoln Bedroom? -

What a thrill to be an included guy! I think this Latino race car driver is a role I can really wrap my head around & sink my teeth into & also really inhabit the character. It hardly needs to be said, but just to be totally clear, when Hayes said I'm not THEIR friend, he was obv referring to my honorary status as Friend of the Radio Program (FORP) and that's actually even MORE cool and not hurting any feelings -

But for real Andy, that's super cool. I'm far too new to retreat so fully behind a veneer of ironing, even though earnest expression makes me uncomfortable -

I, for one, am hurt that it takes praise from a self-styled professional podcast criticizing guy to validate your feelings of pride and accomplishment, when the nerds you left behind in here have been falling over each other to love you. I guess staying true to your roots is one thing they don't teach in any handbook -

Ever since the movie Se7en boxes are way too scary so I'll just look at the pictures from before you start the boxing process. But I am curious to see and I think it's a sweet gesture to send IRL physical acknowledgement of appreciation for this radio program -

@showshowbro I find that story so relatable to me. Plus, full of GReat use of tHe shift key, which is prbly like the hardeSt part of computers. Also, remember that movie Multiplicity? With all the Keatons (buster, diane, etc) -

Isn't that interesting how it used to be that computer language was for no-girlfriend types but now nerds is cool now. The age we live in, it's like my TELEPHONE can talk to Me. and the television also lives in there or something, I don't quite understand it -

One thing about this episode has been bugging me and that's if maybe Orby is like some kind of bird guy. She was talking about climbing a tree and building a nest and Sean was all, "The nest is the show," but what if Orbey wasn't doing metaphors but instead was saying about her real life. Because later she kept talking about feeders, you know? Like BIRD feeders, ever heard of em? Possibly scoop here, folks. Very interested to learn more. -

I've been doing listening for a while but I haven't been doing forums. But now I want to express my enjoyment of the show in general, and especially seeing a name from the forums jump into the podcast. It's like everybody's dream, to jump into movies instead of just talking at the screen. Also, Poltergeist (too spooky). Great job, Andy! -
Yeah, the music was really amazing. Of all the musical guests Scott's had on so far, including those of whom I was already a fan before the CBB episode aired, this was by far my favorite performance. Especially the wonderful cover of "Now Is The Cool Of The Day." Just really, really great. Megan's voice is striking and remarkably well-suited for that haunting Appalachian melody. Kindly note that I did at least hesitate before using the phrase, "haunting" to describe the vocals, and please accept my apologies. P.S. Remember that one-shote Nick Kroll character, the indie mucician from Coachella? Didn't he say that his only goal was for somebody "to describe his vocals as haunting?" Shocked that it didn't come up again.

I saw the movie way before I consciously sought out the Great Comic Books (sometime around the time I got serious about drawing pictures). Needless to say, hundreds of page of classic, innovative comics RUINED FOREVER. Of course, by now I've realized that the whole point of film adaptations is to dilute literature with so much unprocessed cultural doodoo as to render it unfit for consumption by all future generations.

This is as good a place to post this link as any, celebrating the baffling, upsetting duality of Nicolas Cage: http://www.unsungfil...s-cage-paradox/ I say that there should be an entire category named in his honor. EDIT: I guess what I'm trying to say is this. Exactly this. -
