This is such a great bad movie because it tries to mix every 80s action trope to the most insane degree possible. You think one character is the main person but then that changes partway into the movie and then once again. The monk and zombie fights are nuts, and the fact that I think they just shot parts in a legit Vietnamese strip club/brothel just because they could makes this an ideal candidate for the show.

To be fair, you can love those things and believe in climate change. I think a more apt analogy would be that a character is a pro-life abortionist.

I'm nowhere near Crowe's financial status, but I too have a diverse art collection that's fairly big, granted it's not stuff bought from Sothebys, it's not hard to start building a collection once you've found a financially feasible place to get it. I just moved some of it and was actually surprised to see some of the stuff that I forgot that I had. But I have a feeling that Crowe made a very pretty penny during his peak when he was getting nominated for everything during the years of Gladiator, A Beautiful Mind, and others. Let's also not forget his band that I'm sure was releasing hit record after hit record. I also think he's still putting out new episodes of his hit TV show. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W3EAUDcZrN8

21. I Know Who Killed Me - Aubrey dies inside the glass coffin when abducted by her piano teacher. 22. Leprechaun: In the Hood - The Leprechaun was never released from the prison Ice-T locked him in. 23. The Room - The whole movie is actually the whole JLS as Johnny lies dying from shooting himself. 24. Superman 3 - The black kryptonite kills Superman rather than turning him evil. The last half of the movie is just his hallucination as he dies from advanced kryptonite poisoning. 25. Catwoman - Halle Berry dies when she's drowned by the goons in the beginning, never actually being revived by the cat's kiss. 26. Jingle All the Way - Arnold dies in the opening traffic scene, his car accident is what was causing the traffic. 27. Twilight Breaking Dawn part 1 - Bella dies in childbirth. 28. Crank - Chev died in the first hour after waking up, the poison working its magic. 29. Trespass - Didn't see 30. Cool as Ice - Ice dies jumping his bike near Kathy when she was riding her horse. 31. Birdemic - Nathalie is murdered by Rob after their date. 32. 88 Minutes - Pacino is killed when his car explodes. 33. Abduction - Taylor Lautner is killed when his house explodes in the beginning. 34. Adventures of Pluto Nash - Pluto is killed in prison when his operation to remove his appendix is botched. 35. Tiptoes - Oldman dies after getting beat up by the angry boyfriend. 36. On the Line - Didn't see 37. Speed 2: Cruise Control - Jason Patrick and Sandra Bullock die by crashing into each other, a rare shared JLS. 38. Bad Ass - Didn't see 39. Godzilla - Broderick is killed by the baby Godzilla's in Madison Square Garden. 40. Judge Dredd - Dredd is actually the guy killed by James Remar in the opening gunfight, not the rookie Judge.

FUCK YES CYBORG DOLPHIN!!!!

I love that the play-by-play commentator for Pride FC was the star of this movie, though apparently he was in an actual rock band in the early 80s with the guitarist from Quiet Riot. I'm also surprised to see that this was not his only acting credit, this dude has over 60 credits to his name.

Okay so a few things from the top of my head. In regards to Dangerfield's collection of spatulas and silverware and taking all of the craft services each night. It makes sense considering that Dangerfield was born in 1921, making him 71 when this movie was made, was a child of the Great Depression. I know from members of my family and anecdotes from other people, that they became hoarders of certain things like food or not letting food go to waste as they were raised to use everything since it was so limited when they were growing up. Second, for the mention of Leonardo DiCaprio being too pretty to be in the movie, there was an interesting article on Cracked in the last couple weeks about the secret story of Titanic being that Jack was actually a woman posing as a man, mainly due to Cameron mentioning in a few interviews that he picked Leo for being not as masculine looking as the other candidates for the role and a few other reasons. http://www.cracked.com/blog/the-much-better-movie-hiding-in-titanic/ As for the weird items in offices, I think it can be safe to say that the director used prior experience from Superman IV to make the wealthy boss' office filled with random extravagant things similar to Lex Luthor's penthouse filled with random, expensive looking crap. And speaking of being inspired, I think it is safe to say that Ron Artest was inspired by Nancy going HAM on everyone when he went into the stands in Detroit and started beating fans, especially after reading some of his crazy ramblings in various interviews since that incident.

I think it's safe to say this is a prequel to Natural Born Killers in that Rodney lost his promotion and family, then got back with his first wife and their two kids. There are so many moments in what I've seen so far where he looks at his stepson or other kids the same way he looked at Juliette Lewis it's uncanny and disconcerting.

I'm just surprised it didn't have Maggie Grace getting kidnapped in the first 30 seconds.

Invasion U.S.A. (1985)
RyanSz replied to JoeRelihanGalactusMusic's topic in Bad Movie Recommendations
This movie is amazing as it's basically saying that the Russians in Red Dawn were pussies and these villains were the real deal. -
This had all the subtle foreshadowing of the Shanghai movies with Jackie Chan and Owen Wilson. They might as well have had Marky Mark give a pep talk to a young stage hand and have him asking his name before the kid walks off, and he says Kurt. Wouldn't you make a 180 if you're new lead singer was the singer from Third Eye Blind?

Yeah I was surprised by the number of actual 80s-90s rockers in this film, and I have to assume some of the extravagance/debauchery was based on their lives. Since this film is based somewhat on the story of "Ripper" Owens in that it's about a guy who was in a cover band and ends up playing in the band he idolized, but everything else is basically every "Behind the Music" episode ever, it's amazing that none of the musicians stopped and said 'hey, not even Motley Crue went through this much shit.' Also in a Mandela Effect moment for me, I could have sworn it was Paul Bettany in the role of Beers, not Jason Flemyng.

God I forgot how terrible this loose telling of Judas Priest's history in the 90s.

Yeah that was a big bummer. I also think there was a bit of an error with the cop at the high school who was keeping the parents out of the school,

It was over-the-top Cage but it was what was expected in the situation, unlike in other recent Cage flicks where it's just because he feels like it. I liked that it still had a Crank-ish feel to the cutaways but was handled in a grounded manner as much as could be done with a plot like this. Watching Cage and Blair at one point try and gas their children to literally stopping to wave at their neighbors or worry about the in-laws showing up for dinner worked so perfectly and made it that much more enjoyable.

With incredible performances from its two leads, a solid 73% on Rotten Tomatoes, and directed by Brian Taylor of Neveldine/Taylor fame, Mom and Dad would be a great movie to discuss for how insanely crazy and entertaining it is. It's basically a mix of The Happening, The Signal, and Cooties, the movie is well balanced between visceral violence, primarily against teens and young kids, and dark comedy. Nic Cage is in prime form here as a dad suffering a mid-life crisis at the time of the carnage starting, and has Selma Blair who plays the perfect foil to his craziness. Cage actually puts on a great performance that makes you remember that he's an Oscar winning actor, especially during a monologue where he laments how he hates the adult he's become and how he fears it will only get worse for him.

Showgirls 2: Penny's from Heaven (2011)
RyanSz replied to ChrisSoprych's topic in Bad Movie Recommendations
Okay so I watched this shit show this weekend, mainly because it's on Prime Video, and boy is it godawful. My friends and I found that the best way to watch this, that actually kinda worked, was to watch 4-5 minutes of the movie depending on bad it was and then skip about 10 minutes and repeat. Doing this actually made it quite an enjoyable experience, but that's like comparing getting shot in the foot to getting shot in the head. Another issue I had with this movie was that I couldn't remember the main character from the first film since there were literally dozens of showgirls on the screen at any one time, and she wasn't one of the main 5-6 showgirls to the best of my memory. I don't even think you can call this a parody, but rather a shitty copy of an already shitty movie from the opening hitchhiking scene with the guy in his "uncle's million dollar Porsche" to the fact that it includes Glen Plummer reprising his role from the first movie for a needless cameo, or that it includes basically no showgirling but rather appearances by a guy who looks like the devil and a snuff film ring, this would be an amazing live show episode.- 15 replies

I can't wait to see Hereditary as it looks amazing and like it has some strong performances from the main cast, along with A24 just nailing it out of the park with each of their releases. If you haven't read I Kill Giants, I highly recommend that you do because the book is incredible in how it uses fantasy and epic battles to get the message across about serious moments of growth in every person's life and how it is dealt with by someone who may not truly grasp the enormity of it like others would. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JMutrPkeeHM

Omission: How was it not mentioned that this was Hopkins' first movie after WINNING AN OSCAR?! Even with that, he is still fourth billed behind Estevez, who just did Men at Work, Jagger who was working on his next solo album, and Russo, who was just in the forgettable film One Good Cop. I would understand if this film had been made a year or two prior and they were releasing it then to capitalize on his success as Hannibal Lecter, but from what I've read, it was made near or after Silence of the Lambs. Also, this isn't the first crazy helmet Jagger has had to wear on film, there was this gem from the 1970 film, Ned Kelly.

Episode 180 - Howling II: Your Sister Is a Werewolf: LIVE!
RyanSz replied to JulyDiaz's topic in How Did This Get Made?
Are you talking about Dr. Chuck Tingle? Because then yes I need to discuss Helicopter Man Pounds Billionaire Dinosaur Ass at length. I love and hate writing, mainly because I have people reading my work, but then that means I have people reading my work with a red pen. I used to write for Bleacher Report on pro wrestling and MMA, thinking the fan bases can't be as bad as sports like football. Holy shit was I wrong. Say the Undertaker wasn't the best booked wrestler for Wrestlemania and people lose their fucking minds. Now I just write for the catharsis and release of ideas, with the garage band mentality of someday publishing some of my crap. -

I saw it in the horrible Dracula 2000 where his suicide wasn't allowed by God due to his betrayal of Jesus. Alternatively Judas has been called the most loved disciple for his courage to betray Jesus, thus allowing him to sacrifice himself for the sins of man, which was recently discussed in the later arcs of the Spawn comics. Side note, does anyone feel that Frank Dux heard some of the things Christopher Lee did in his life and thought, "I need to make up some stories about myself to sound way more badass than some old British guy?" -
Episode 180 - Howling II: Your Sister Is a Werewolf: LIVE!
RyanSz replied to JulyDiaz's topic in How Did This Get Made?
The funny thing is that they makers of the movie continued to say that a few of the sequels, like number three, were based on the books when they had apparently NOTHING to do with those storylines. As for numbering books, it is a big thing with horror writers from smaller publications or self-published, since I get a good number of horror graphic novels I get Amazon recommendations for these kind of books. Very rarely are they of any quality. I get that, but honestly, who is going to call a copyright violation on this piece of shit? In doing the DLM challenge this year I've found dozens of bad movies, mostly horror, on Youtube just uploaded with no alteration and they are all of the of the same content quality of this film. This isn't like someone put up the Last Jedi or Avengers 3, this is the shitty sequel to The Howling, the copyright owner should be THRILLED people are watching this thing. -

RyanSz replied to JulyDiaz's topic in How Did This Get Made?
I watched the same video Tig and Stephanie watched and I will never understand why full movie uploads do the zoomed-in, kinda fuzzy look. It's not like the copyright owner is going to pass on pulling the movie because it looks crappy and the actual title is listed for the film so it's not like the uploader is hiding it. As for the rest of this series, I can say that they may have the biggest drop in quality of any horror series I've seen. Usually it's gradual in the decline, but The Howling series just plummets starting with the second and even faster after the third, which isn't a so-bad-it's-good film, it's just terrible and actually really boring. After hearing that this was filmed behind the Iron Curtain and that it drew a huge punk crowd for a few scenes, I would have loved a little cameo in Atomic Blonde where James McAvoy ends up with his various punk friends going to where they are shooting the film and seeing Lee there in his getup. Also, is this film the inspiration for Christoper Lee releasing a couple metal albums? -
Oh I think that's one property that will stand the test of time with kids, but I don't know if it's at the public peak that it was a few years back. I know they did an animated one around that time to go with the show, but for it have a CGI release only last year seemed real odd. This reminded me of when I was looking for new films to purchase for my job, I saw that they made a Woody Woodpecker movie last year, which surprised the hell out of me as I think that cartoon is even more niche than Yogi or Smurfs, and even funnier was that from what I read, it was only theatrically released in Brazil.

The one thing I give this film points for is that they were at least put a movie out on a noticeable trend while it was still a talked about thing. The Angry Bird movie came out years after the game had dropped in popularity, the My Little Pony movie came out years after making fun of Bronies was big, and then you have things like the Smurfs or Yogi which came out years, if not decades, after their relevancy.
