Yeah they make it seem like with Nicole Kidman that its just an implant. But when Faith Hills neck starts sparking and she starts doing insane spins on the dance floor, I feel like they were trying to make it seem like they were robots. Its like they had two producers with opposing views on the situation and they both won.

Maybe the sequels, the original is a fun movie though.

Paul was cast as the next Green Lantern.

My apologies for putting it out there that The Fog was a solid movie, that definitively is not the case. Yea Thomas Jane absolutely kills it in that scene, he looks so completely destroyed. Yea the ending made the notion that god is within us all like it was the formula for cold fusion. Also Arlington Road is also worthy of being taken down, its such a fucking weird movie. And in keeping with Jason's preference for keeping shit real, Dennis the Menace blows two of his fingers off and is wandering down the street half dead in the opening scene.

I will say The Fog is solid though, its a little bananas in terms of plot but Marcia Gay Harden is amazingly fucking hateable in that movie. Also the ending is goddamn brutal in how much of a bummer it is. There are movies that have melancholy endings and then theres The Fog.

God this movie is an acid trip. A bishop tries to strangle a woman because apparently if people believe that god is inside of us all and not just churches than catholicism will collapse in on its self. I did like Patricia Arquette screaming at Gabriel Byrne in fury in a mans voice because he wouldnt have some sweet possessed sex with her.

This movie was crazy bad. Poor Bette Midler was giving it her all, too bad there wasnt anything that she could have done to save this garbage.

I think the entire episode could be spent discussing just what the fuck exactly was Xander Cages career before he got recruited into the CIA. Because apparently he was making money off what was called a stunt even though he stole the car. Cut to him hanging out with Tony Hawk and talking to Eve about promotions or some nonsense. Im pretty sure Youtube wouldnt allow a criminal to post a video of himself blowing up a senators car and let him earn money off ad views? Not too mention everybody knows his fucking name. How is he still operating? The government was apparently easily able to find him, why did they let him keep doing what he was doing until they decided they wanted to employ him?

The Fantastic Four (1994)
Ofcoursemyhorse replied to Ninja Terror's topic in Bad Movie Recommendations
It would be an interesting episode if they did cover it, just because the history behind the movie is absolutely fascinating in its own right. But i'd rather they cover any one of the other three just because there really is and endless amount to talk about on those ones. -
The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen (2003)

Was watching Penny Dreadful today and it just made me think about this movie and how much of a bummer it is they botched it so badly. With a better story and dialogue this movie had the potential to be awesome. I do however think they did a great job on the make up/ effects for Mr. Hyde, and the design for the Nautlius and the matching car were pretty outstanding too. -
I feel like its impossible to take Meatloaf seriously as a threat while he's wearing a bolo tie.

I feel like Swayze was playing this movie like it was an unofficial sequel to Roadhouse.

These articles are basically starting with the premise that if this movie isnt making Avengers money on its opening weekend clearly its a bust, even though its been out one weekend and already made back half of its production budget. I'm sure after the international box office comes back it might even turn a profit. Its a bad movie but it'll make its money back. Even John Carter eventually did.

They're being smart with the X-men franchise and letting Bryan Singer have more control over creating the expanded universe like Joss Whedons role over at Marvel. I would also be extremely curious to see a cut of the new Fantastic Four with whatever scenes were obviously excised from the film.
-
And honestly if Fox is trying to just demolish the property before letting it revert it'd be a huge blunder on their part. Marvel studios could easily recover from whatever they did. Guardians and Ant-Man have me convinced they'd do an awesome Fantastic Four movie if given the chance. Its a shame too because they could do cross overs with Ant-Man, Avengers, and now Spiderman.

Sony was trying so fucking hard to set up the kind of universe Marvel has with all their movies. The Amazing Spiderman was filled with so many plotlines and allusions to villians they wanted to use down the line. They just forgot what made Marvels build up so successful, that every movie leading up to Avengers was a solid superhero movie in its own right. Amazing Spiderman was decent, and then went into Amazing 2 and it just all fell apart as they desperately tried to build a bigger world, and set up stand alone Sinister Six and Venom movies. Fox is just being idiotic, they should either let a director who's actually a fan of the source material do the movie, or work out a deal with Marvel where they share profits from the films using the Fantastic Four.

http://io9.com/was-the-fantastic-four-reboot-doomed-from-the-start-1722904794 Well reading this makes me a bit conflicted. This movie never stood a chance. Trank may have fucked himself by not toeing the line or losing his shit on set after repeated mandates from the studio, but its insanely unfair of the studio to put this disaster of a movie all on him like they're trying to. Especially if they did edits to the film that he had no part in. Also I love that Fox is mandating "gritty realism".

Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance (2011)

I wish they would have done either one of these before doing Trespass or Season of the Witch. These are both much more solid crazy Nic Cage movies.- 24 replies

I'm fine to label him as a dick, because most of what i've read about him gives me the rather firm impression that he's a dick. He trashed his rented house, he was apparently a dick to most of the actors on set. Frequently showed up high. Was enough of a fucking asshole to get himself fired off Star Wars. Theres a reason why none of the actors in the film have piped up to defend him. And then he does this asshole move where he trashes his film right before release all while lamenting the masterpiece that will never be seen. I'm sure the vision he had of this movie was much better in his head, but thats his fault for his inability to translate that onto screen. He's fucked himself pretty good on this shoot too. I cant imagine there are going to be too many studios who are going to give this guy a job after the shenanigans he had on this set. Also this dude is not David Russell, who had contentious shoots as well. The big difference is he emerged with a great movie under his belt. Believe me i'd love it if Trank's F4 was anywhere near as good as Three Kings. It isnt though, it's terrible.
-
The worst thing about this movie being so terrible is that we're either getting a sequel for this joyless take on the F4 or we'll be getting yet another reboot in a few years as Fox desperately clings to the rights.
-
Trank seems like an asshole. He admitted that he treated this movie like it was a sequel to Chronicle. And that none of his actors have come to his defense is pretty telling. He apparently had terrible on set behavior, and if this movie is any indicator of what he does with a licensed property i'm glad they fired him off his Star Wars movie.

Its just such a shame, Fantastic Four has the potential to be an awesome movie. Its insane that they could have made a more well received movie if they just point blank copied everything The Incredibles did. The mid 2000's Fantastic Four movies did a great job at getting the tone right, they were just hampered by terrible writing. But in terms of the lightness and self-realization that this is a movie with a villian named Victor Von Doom, and the main hero is a dude who stretches, I think they did a decent job. This movie is just so angsty its overwhelming.
