  1. Hello fellow HDTGM compatriots! Recently I had the honor of being a guest of one of my favorite podcasts, Hellbent for Horror. If you listen to the Wrong Reel podcast, you might have heard the host, S.A. Bradley, as a guest himself on that show. What I love about Hellbent is that Bradley really digs horror and what makes it special. Along with some very personal connections he has to the genre, he gets into the psychological, social, and cultural aspects of horror. There are times when he gets intimate and profound, times when he can get into the business/budget part of horror, and then there are times when he will do interviews from film festivals. It's pretty fantastic. Anyway, he invited me (John Arminio) and two other guests to appear on Hellbent for Horror's 50th episode, in which we talk about what makes a horror film a "classic," if a classic can still have an impact on audiences the way it did when it was first released, and what might be considered a "new classic." The new classics I chose to discuss were The Witch and Crimson Peak (ohhhhh, Guillermo ). I'd just really appreciate it if you Internet Denizens would give it a listen, since you are some of the smartest and most discerning (and polite!) movie-lovers on the interwebs. Thanks. https://hellbentforhorror.com/2017/08/14/episode-050-diamonds-and-rust-and-modern-horror/

Check us out on iTunes or the Podcast Addict app for Android devices! For more information, visit us at: thelettucepodcast.blogspot.com Facebook Twitter Thanks for your time!
  4. On top of all the comedy podcasts I listen to, I also like ones that go behind the scenes of the entertainment industry, as I work in television. Has anyone heard of The Jay & Tony Show Show? I think it's a small podcast where the two hosts tell a lot of funny anecdotes about celebrities and behind-the-scenes info on shows. I'm enjoying it so far, so I thought I'd share and see if anyone else has also heard of it? https://itunes.apple.com/us/podcast/the-jay-and-tony-show-show/id920936734
  5. Hello Everybody, I just wanted to let you guys know about our podcast network, The Nerdpocalypse Network! We have three podcasts going right now, so please check out our page below. I hope you enjoy and share often: http://www.thenerdpo...odcast-network/ Thanks, Jay
  6. Below is a link to a rather lengthy feature I wrote on the history of the comedy podcast boom. Huge thanks to Scott Aukerman and Randy and Jason Sklar for speaking with me. It's been a long road from starting my research, doing a dozen interviews, writing it, spending far too much time sending unsolicited pitches to editors way out of my league, then re-writing it a bunch, but now it's finally available. I hope ya'll enjoy it. http://splitsider.co...y-podcast-boom/ As a bonus, if you visit my blog (link below) there is a one-off podcast featuring clips from the interviews that were used in this article plus James Adomian being hilarious as usual. And the entire audio of 'The Podfathers' panel from last year's Montreal Just for Laughs Festival Conference is also on my blog (the panel included Marc Maron, Greg Proops, Chris Hardwick, Paul F. Tompkins and Scott Mosier). www.joeygee.com
  7. I listen to a good deal of podcasts both on and off Earwolf. I hear certain companies advertising on a lot of them, e.g. Audible, Adam & Eve, who have clearly put a lot of money into hoping podcast advertising pays off. Since this is a relatively new medium with an even newer surge in popularity, I wonder, has there been any news as to how well it's paying off for these companies? Is Audible seeing a lot of money out of giving away free audiobooks in every corner of the Internet? This might have been discussed on The Wolf Den or elsewhere, of which I haven't listened to much.
