This movie is a turd sandwich of 1990 romcom action cheese. Plus, now it's hard to watch Mel Gibson work with a self-proclaimed Jewish-Buddhist and not wonder what horrible thoughts were going through his mind.

If this is the one I'm thinking of, lots of people were making a big deal out of Mel Gibson showing off his ass in this. This is back when he was still considered a legit hot hunk of beef. Later it turned out they used a body double -- a fuckin' STUNT BUTT. I'm pretty sure that's why my mom took me to see this.

 

On the action/rom-com tip, I think Romancing The Stone would be way better than this one.

I unironically enjoy this movie, Goldie Hawn and Mel are both great in this. The plot may be a bit by the numbers but overall it's a solid 80's comedy.
