pbnews 93 Posted May 16, 2013 I mean do I really need to let everyone know about the July 21st, 2009 episode of The Best Show? http://wfmu.org/flas...1&archive=54334 No, but it's much appreciated nonetheless. #HelicopterRides 1 Share this post Link to post

Patrick L 32 Posted May 16, 2013 I mean do I really need to let everyone know about the July 21st, 2009 episode of The Best Show? http://wfmu.org/flas...1&archive=54334 That was the first Best Show I ever listened to and now every Tuesday night for the last couple years is spent listening to WFMU. 1 Share this post Link to post
DubipR 485 Posted May 16, 2013 Why wasn't THIS episode taped and put on VPN? I've listened to this two times already. and I'm dying here at work! 1 Share this post Link to post

Patrick L 32 Posted May 16, 2013 Could not make a deal with Milt Gorman over at Five Star Entertainment. You should have tried Matthew Tompkins over at the Shout Network, He seems like a man who can get things done 1 Share this post Link to post
Kickpuncher 5012 Posted May 16, 2013 Having no familiarity with Best Show, I imagine the look on my face right now is the same one I've seen on certain friends after trying to introduce them to Comedy Bang Bang… Yeah, I had no awareness of Gary going into this, but it didn't really matter. Fun episode and Andy was great as always. Then I come into this thread and I have absolutely no idea what most of the posts mean. 1 Share this post Link to post

justinmh05 1968 Posted May 17, 2013 Including tons of great long-form improvised comedy sketches with the likes of Paul F. Tompkins, Jon Benjamin, Jon Glaser, Matt Walsh, Tim & Eric and of course the great Jon Wurster. Sometimes those guests appear as characters (Wurster is always a character, he appears almost every week), sometimes as themselves. But always hilarious. Share this post Link to post
HipGuide 196 Posted May 17, 2013 won't listen until monday at work but i was disappointed it was gary and not tom proper. this thread changed my expectations. for best show newbs, i would listen to the best show gems podcast, not the full show because the full show is kind of time sensitive and best show gems is just the best stuff. HipGuide 196 Posted May 17, 2013 tim heidecker's call promoting the comedy is a really epic 45 minute romp. i also like the john hodgman, john oliver, philly boy roy call from 3 years ago. also, the thing to keep in mind about scharpling and wurster is that they are punks in the nicest way possible. 1 Share this post Link to post

I love the series of calls Matt Walsh made where he would be continuously heckled for literally an hour at a time by Jon Benjamin. Benjamin as the white illegimate son of George Benson is pretty great too. Another favorite is Wurster as the relaxation specialist who sabotages Tom's attempts to relax by bringing members of the Bush administration into the relaxation scenarios. DubipR 485 Posted May 17, 2013 Could not make a deal with Milt Gorman over at Five Star Entertainment. It's that damn Trejo casting he's doing. I tried out for the role of the Jewish mailman but they gave it to Geechy Guy. Curse you Milt Gorman! Share this post Link to post
klemjohansen 748 Posted May 17, 2013 Disappointed in only one thing. The Galaxy is a shit phone, Gary. And I had so much respect for you, too. 1 Share this post Link to post
therealjayknox 26 Posted May 17, 2013 Normally I hate these characters that show up but Gary worked. But he main thing is that Andy Kindler and Fogelnest are back together for the greatest podcast gold ever. "You just got Kindled" (and I liked it!) is my pick for podcast merch (bumper sticker and/or tshirt) combined. Share this post Link to post
Shannon 2953 Posted May 17, 2013 It was SO hard, but I saved this episode aaaalll day so that I could really laugh at it without being disruptive at work. And laugh I did. "Baz Purrman" amazing. Share this post Link to post
