jarrycanada 2483 Posted July 20, 2014 after watching this incredibility long movie and it does feel too long. kind of like this review. I now have a good working idea of what Michael Keaton's computer room at his home now looks like. as I have a bad feeling the director just shot all of his scenes on the weekend at his summer house. Note: you never see him anyplace else. Â This may belong on a show I would like to pitch called why did this get made. $ Â We need to talk about this horrible piece of shit of a video game movie this is Need for speed. Â First off, I don't ever recall seeing a Helicopter in any of the need for speed video games that I played.or a radio station style disc jockey. this movie at times feels like it wanted to be a The Fast and the Furious copy cat film as it feels more like that film then anything like a need for speed video game. Watching this at home on my tv not in 3d. I could clearly see the over misuse of 3d image elements that for me just scream gimmick and added nothing to the film it's self or story if you can say there is much of a story. because that's thin at times too. Â Scott Mescudi as the loveable Benny the helicopter pilot. this added a much needed comedy relief to the film, some times you need a loveable stereo type black guy who's just there to hang out along the ride. he's got this amazing skill for finding new Helicopters to ride along during the chase scenes with his buddy Tobey. Â Imogen Poots as the British girl. what an amazing accent work she did here in this film. it's like she spent a full hour watching BBC one and said yes I think I got this... NOPE, she seems like she was struggling to pull that accent off because it fully shows in the movie. they even make fun of this fact at one point. edited later: note she is british but is not clear in story. Â Aaron Paul wasn't really all that bad in this movie. wasn't as good as he was in "A Long Way Down" but I was expecting his Breaking Bad character to show up here. didn't really happen. I was waiting for a Justice Pinkman style "Yo" but it never happened. Share this post Link to post
wyldride 285 Posted July 21, 2014 The most crazy pants part is the idea that three race cars, with very distinct colours, can zoom through heavy traffic and somehow no one was able to see that there were three cars, rather than two, which is the central point of the film, since the so-called protagonist has to prove the existence of the third car. This, of course, has no bearing on his guilt in causing his friend's death, since by participating in the race, he's just as guilty as the other guy. For some reason he gets a slap on the wrist compared to what the other guy is facing. Â As to Dakota, is she playing a Brit? I don't recall that. Imogen Poots, who is British (she's from London), plays a British character with her real accent. Dakota played the girlfriend who reveals where the car is hidden, but I don't think she's supposed to be British. Share this post Link to post
jarrycanada 2483 Posted July 21, 2014 I agree it's like no one in this city has traffic cams.  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uDz3-t8ioBk  your right my bad, I cut and pasted the wrong name but didn't notice tell now. it's Imogen Poots, so you mean she's British and is trying to play American or is she....listen shes got a little London to her voice and then it comes and goes during the movie. it bug the hell out of me during the film.  best line racing is an art! sillstaw 414 Posted July 21, 2014 If they do this, they should talk about the comic relief moment where one of the main character's buddies takes off all his clothes at his office and kisses an unwilling co-worker. It came across as, "You know what our audience really finds funny? Sexual assault." Share this post Link to post
Quasar Sniffer 4174 Posted July 21, 2014 My favorite part of this movie is the idea of hiding from cops behind, and while driving, these one-of-a-kind supercars. Share this post Link to post
jarrycanada 2483 Posted July 22, 2014 What about the refueling the car as they drive along the highway, that was a little mind blowing. Share this post Link to post

Definitely not trying for an American accent. Share this post Link to post
