Ofcoursemyhorse 1043 Posted September 18, 2014 Its pretty shameful that Double Team was covered while this gem was completely overlooked. Its all kinds of awesome. Â Particularly the scenes where "bad" JCVD shit talks the "good" one. Share this post Link to post
Lando 2019 Posted September 18, 2014 I thought we had a thread on this movie, but I guess we just discussed it in another thread. The thing that I remember most is how unimpressed each brother is to discover that he has a previously unknown twin. They act as if they're just meeting some random asshole that they must begrudgingly accept throughout the whole thing 1 Share this post Link to post
Ofcoursemyhorse 1043 Posted September 20, 2014 They also actively hate each other for no reason throughout most of the movie. Share this post Link to post
Lando 2019 Posted June 14, 2016 I just watched Maximum Risk. In the grand scheme of JCVD films it was easily one of the more coherent and more enjoyable films. However, he played a cop that discovered he was a separated at birth twin and made me want to bump the Double Impact thread. Â It also had me thinking, how many times has JCVD essentially done a movie with very similar themes more than once? Global kickboxing tournament? Cyborgs? Separated At Birth Twins? Ofcoursemyhorse 1043 Posted June 14, 2016 JCVD also did Replicant where he's a clone of a serial killer. Share this post Link to post
AbeFroman 70 Posted June 15, 2016 If they do another JCVD film, this must be the one. So ridiculous and yet so enjoyable. Â How about the redundancy in JCVD film titles? How many have "Death" in the title? Â Death Warrant, Sudden Death, Wake of Death, Until Death!!! Â Double Impact, Double Team 1 Share this post Link to post
BenA.Varkentine 20 Posted June 27, 2016 June's position on men doing the splits means this movie has to be done, since there's a scene where a half-dozen women in an exercise class all wet their leotards at once, over JCVD doing them. Share this post Link to post
Soapstef 36 Posted January 7, 2017 Holy Hell! I forgot how bad this was when both twins are onscreen. Share this post Link to post
nthurkettle 148 Posted January 7, 2017 Worth doing just for the way JCVD pronounces the words "Black silk underwear". Â Also, they clearly filmed a borderline-pornographic sex scene without necessarily knowing a) where it fit in the plot, or which twin was going to be the one having sex. So it gets wedged in as a fantasy sequence where growly, hair-slicked back JCVD drunkenly imagines smiley spandex-wearing JCVD jackhammering his girlfriend. 2 Share this post Link to post
nthurkettle 148 Posted May 8, 2018 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xyUqIuwOEzI Â A fast-paced trailer, in which every other shot is in slow-motion. Share this post Link to post
Ofcoursemyhorse 1043 Posted May 10, 2018 I'm just now realizing after watching that trailer than one twin was supposed to be a gun expert and the other one a karate expert. But I'm pretty fucking sure Alex and Chad do both equally well. 1 Share this post Link to post
AbeFroman 70 Posted May 28, 2019 Bumping Double Impact as it has been too long since the crew tackled JCVD. The Bloodsport and Timecop episodes are my all time favorites and Double Impact is equally worthy: black silk underwear, another boss fight with Chong Li, splits in a unitard and bad early 90s rap on the soundtrack.  Share this post Link to post

Sometimes I'm tempted to do a rewatch of all the classic JCVD and Steven Seagal movies, but man. I don't know if I really want to do that. Share this post Link to post
