People debate over what age is appropriate to first show their kids movies like Jurassic Park or Aliens or even E.T., but when there are legitimate childrens movies like this that are clearly pure nightmares made flesh, fuck it, show your 3-year-old The Exorcist.

Wow this looks both terrible plot and acting wise with enough bullshit that makes no sense to make it a great pick. The mom possesses his skateboard in the form of Dom Delouise? Is that actually what's happening?

Unfortunately I hadnt seen both this and the sequel in years and ended up conjuring a plot point out of nowhere that someones mother inhabited a skateboard.

 

This movie still does contain a skateboard that gains life out of nowhere after a kid attaches a batman car to the front of it.

And that skateboard that the kid grows to love throughout the course of the movie gets straight up shot. Only for the kid to unceremoniously say he doesnt need it anymore because Timothy Busfield is going to be his father now.

Guys mystery solved. Its in fact the spirit of a magic shop owner who also apparently skateboarded in the 70's that allows the skateboard to gain sentience.

 

It all seems so simple in retrospect.

I'll let this trailer speak for itself. I know the sequel was already suggested but the original had not been yet. One of my all time favorite terrible films.
