Strange movie that came out around the same time as Phone Booth, which was clearly the better of the two.

 

Why someone felt we needed two movies based around snipers holding people on a phone hostage at the same time is beyond me.

Were these a result of the sniper rampage in DC or were they postponed because of that?

These were both filmed prior to the DC sniper. They held back the release of Phone Booth but Liberty stands still was insanely enough released straight to dvd during the time the attacks were happening.
