phred2321 57 Posted August 23, 2017 And didn't we already do Mission Impossible? Share this post Link to post
TheFanon 8 Posted August 23, 2017 And didn't we already do Mission Impossible? Â Yeah. Maybe Tom and Abe brought these movies for discussion and didn't know there was already a MI episode. Share this post Link to post
DaltonMaltz 1119 Posted August 23, 2017 Sorry everyone! Made a mistake! We have done Mission Impossible. Next week will be Top Gun vs. Minority Report. Â Albert Brooks' Real Life will be in September. Share this post Link to post
sycasey 2.0 2301 Posted August 23, 2017 Cool, so Minority Report it is. Â (Top Gun is a fun movie, but not actually a good movie.) 2 Share this post Link to post
alt0782 29 Posted August 24, 2017 Sorry everyone! Made a mistake! We have done Mission Impossible. Next week will be Top Gun vs. Minority Report. Â Albert Brooks' Real Life will be in September. After owning up to your mistake I think you've earned the title Forum Man. 1 Share this post Link to post
phred2321 57 Posted August 25, 2017 Interesting matchup, Top Gun has had way more cultural impact but Minority Report is the better movie. Share this post Link to post
FictionIsntReal 79 Posted August 25, 2017 I really enjoyed Spielberg's Minority Report at the time, but after reading PKD's "The Minority Report" I'm incapable of respecting the story. The decision made at the end MAKES NO SENSE, and the whole thing is really just a refusal to grapple with the issue PKD did in favor of making a conventional action movie (which it's a fairly good example of). Â I think it was the first thing I saw Samantha Morton in. After seeing her mute performance in "Sweet and Lowdown", I'm now curious to hear the voice recordings she made for Spike Jonze's "Her" before Scarlett Johannson redid them. NRoberson86 78 Posted August 26, 2017 Top Gun is also on Hulu right now. And Minority Report is on HBO Go/Now. Share this post Link to post
Threshold 93 Posted August 26, 2017 Top Gun, oh Jesus Christ, what a terrible terrible film. It's especially Infuriating since its shelf life is somehow viewed as immortal. Share this post Link to post
