I don't know what they were thinking when they made this movie. It's the absolute worst thing I've seen that had a wide theatrical release. It's on par with a SyFy original. They tried to do way too much with their effects budget. Unfortunately, there are a lot of effects shots in this movie so the viewer is constantly bombarded with terrible CGI. Most of the film take places in a futuristic city. All of the cars are computer models and they only made 3 or 4 different ones. As a result, there's a ridiculous amount of traffic, all traveling at the same speed, and all made up of only a few unique vehicles. Even worse than that, though, are the green screen walking scenes. At one point it becomes clear that two of the actors are simply standing in place and shifting their weight back and forth rather than walking on a treadmill in front of the screen. That's the level of film making you're dealing with in this movie. The biggest surprise for me when I saw this is that it features Sir Ben Kingsley. That's right, they roped Ghandi into this crapfest. There's a lot more shit to see in this movie, but I'll leave it at that and invite anyone brave enough to experience it on their own.

This movie, based off a novel of the same name, has everything you want in a bad movie. It sets the tone with a crazy non sequitur scene where our hero comes home to find neighborhood children burying a bike in his front yard. The hero (Played by the wonderful John Hurt) then accidentally gets sucked up by a skygina and time travels back to 1817 with his talking car. While in the past he pals around with Dr. Frankenstein (Raul Julia), literally GIVES Mary Shelly (Bridget Fonda) a full text of the novel she has not written yet, and accidentally time travels a castle into the future. The finale, set in a post apocalyptic future, sees John Hurt using "clap lasers" in a final fight against Frankensteins monster. Is anybody familiar with the movie Timeline (2003), which was based on the novel by Michael Crichton and was directed by Richard Donner? Not only was this a critical (12% on Rotten Tomatoes) and a box office disaster ($43 million worldwide on a budget of $80 million), it was also the last book of Crichton's that was made to the big screen before his death in 2008. It also has a surprisingly large cast from the likes of Paul Walker, Gerard Butler, Frances O'Connor, Billy Connolly, David Thewlis, Ethan Embry, Anna Friel and Michael Sheen! It's amazing that Butler's career managed to survive before he made 300 a few years later and not even some decent actors can save this from becoming a cheesefest. I'm a sucker for great child based sport movies. The 90's were the era in which there were a glut of of them. Most of the films were baseball centric and were great. Some were better than others, but non the less great ( The Sandlot, Rookie of the Year, Little Big League, Angels in the Outfield). Disney (who produced Angels in the Outfield) clearly felt they had to keep riding this wave and go a step further with the sport children's film sub genre by adding time travel to the mix. What you end up getting with a A Kid in King Arthur's Court is a mish mash of film elements from both Medieval/sports movies which should never be mixed. This film contains beyond ridiculous dialogue, cheesy acting and lousy narrative. I saw this in the theaters at 9 and even then I knew it was bad and felt like my mother needed to get her money back. Not entirely sure what this was. George Takei as the voice of an evil rubber duck monster. Amanda Tapping spending most of the time in the bath. Kristen Kreuk as a robot duplicate who talks to the computer via Rs232 cable plugged in -- Somewhere. Billy Boyd as the paranoid captain. And Robin Dunne as the new guy mechanic. There's weird interdimensional travel and just a lot of the characters being strange. A lot of fun, but totally off the wall. I assume it's Canadian.

Please do an episode on Biggles. It's insane, complete nonsense and thinks it's cool as shit (it's not). Logic goes to die in this movie and I'd like to hear you talk about it. Especially June, as there is a lot of flying in it. By the way the trailer makes the action look fast but in the movie it drags on and on, such as the scene where they blow up a radar dish. I grew a full beard in the time that took. Thanks, SG Ps. I think it was Peter Cushing's final film, which is a shame.

This beautiful William Dear cinematic masterpiece was realeased in 1982 and stars Fred Ward as Lyle Swan. Lyle is a cross country motorcylce racer who accidently travels back in time to the 1880s during a race in the desert. Chock full of brilliant one liners and expertly crafted dailogue this is a must for any bad movie podcast. Plus the whole movie is free on youtube!!!
