TommyPinballs 26 Posted June 16, 2012 perhaps the next commenters corner can answer the question "what's the next big thing in cola?" Share this post Link to post
gibbering ape-faced moron 1 Posted June 16, 2012 yo, not to start some shit or anything but Captain Pike was not just a head on top of a box. he was exposed to a made-up type of radiation which scarred his skin and left his body paralyzed, but his body was actually intact inside that box, which was basically a just a futuristic wheelchair. this is actually explained in the episode (the two-parter that matt and neclord were talking about) by the doctor who is taking care of Pike. whether or not that makes him a cyborg I guess is debatable, I don't really have a dog in that fight. I loved this week's episode, especially the Stephen Hawking segment. I wondered if maybe when Matt started the next segment by addressing John as "professor" if he might not have been trying to continue the same bit but I guess that's unlikely. also, I was really excited to see John Gemberling in this week's episode, as he starred in my favorite adult swim live action show, "fat guy stuck in internet" Share this post Link to post
mattbesser 605 Posted June 16, 2012 I want to recommend anyone to take Matt up on the offer if he invites you on. It is really a lot of fun, and the coals aren't that hot. Neclord, you were a really great sport and as a result this was definitely one of my favorite episodes. 4 Share this post Link to post

Lukas Holmes 2287 Posted June 16, 2012 I've shared this episode with more people than usual, because I found the breakdown by Matt about the idea of 'the faceless forum' interesting. The idea that he had someone come in and defend their ideas is something I would like to see well beyond just this message board. Wouldn't it be great if other areas of the internet had this? benk 257 Posted June 16, 2012 Maybe I'm completely forgetting something, but did Matt forget to talk about the moops again? Are we being prank'd? Share this post Link to post
mattbesser 605 Posted June 16, 2012 I did speak about mopes in the Eric the Paid Intern street interview segment which was cut from the show for a special Eric the Paid Intern show coming in near future. 1 Share this post Link to post
rachelpi 228 Posted June 16, 2012 I thought of GTA Vice City as soon as Matt asked what video game Adam would want to live in. I just want to be one of the radio DJs. (Less chance of getting run over) I'm into the Pike-as-Cyborg idea. I always thought he was in some space version of the iron lung. Cyborg is more exciting. Share this post Link to post
sarahride 83 Posted June 17, 2012 I want to hear more about the Philly shitheads. I live in Philly. Share this post Link to post
NicholasSchleder 12 Posted June 17, 2012 Very funny episode. Loved how they kept bringing the cyborg thing back Share this post Link to post

sarel 45 Posted June 21, 2012 As someone who has actually met Stephen Hawking, the situation of his life is actually really depressing. I remember seeing him around the place I was working and he had to have his assistant wipe the drool off his face. It was really depressing. Plus it takes him hours to respond to questions since he has to go through this meticulous process of selecting each letter and what not. My supervisor at the time asked him a question and it took him a good three hours to get a two sentence response. Also a second for the immediate "why can't Jews cook?". Good start. By the way, back in the day Stephen Hawking was a motherfucking ladies man. He got a lot of pussy. Share this post Link to post

You were a great sport, man. So glad you agreed to do it! You helped spawn some classic i4h scenes! Share this post Link to post

Eric the Paid Intern show! Matt. If this is a joke, it's not funny. Great ideas like this deserve to come to fruition. Share this post Link to post
ron 3 Posted June 27, 2012 The idea that Kosher food laws exist because of concerns about disease/parasites/food poisoning/what-have-you is what my old religious studies professor referred to as "the myth of primitive hygiene." Sometimes God's laws are just God's laws, no explanation needed. I would say that the bible had quite an advanced knowledge of hygiene in terms of food. Pretty much all the food rules make sense. Undercooked pork is still dangerous. People still get sick from oysters. 1 Share this post Link to post
