admin 330 Posted June 28, 2011 Why can't more movies be like Crank 2? Sure it's racist, sexist, implausible and disgusting, but that's what makes it so much fun! Jensen Karp is our lucky guest in the studio with Paul and June (Jason is still in New York, but is live via satellite or something), and together they figure how tar enemas and full-body Tourette's can make Chev Chelios' second adventure so much better than the first. If this podcast doesn't get your heart pumping, well...you'll die, I guess. So you better listen! 1 Share this post Link to post
Julia 477 Posted June 28, 2011 I stand by my opinion that Jason Statham is a hit man in real life, and all of these movies he's in are just documentaries. Share this post Link to post
Jeff1326657679 3 Posted June 28, 2011 I too have a mancrush on Jason Statham and will watch every one of his movies. Can't wait for Killer Elite! Share this post Link to post
jim brown 0 Posted June 28, 2011 What's up with the episodes getting shorter and shorter? Share this post Link to post
AgentOrange 9 Posted June 28, 2011 I'm glad this episode was over this movie because I would have never watched it on my own. I'm still a little shocked by what I watched. I'm still not sure what I watched but I'm pretty sure it was greatness. Share this post Link to post
Bigwig 0 Posted June 29, 2011 Dwight Yokum and Chocolate were together. Chocolate is his secretary and girlfriend. When he says he has a girl out on the street, he is talking about Chocolate, who we cut to walking down the street. Share this post Link to post
M4G3RK 0 Posted June 29, 2011 They mention cameos and the gay couple but fail to mention it is Maynard James Keenan(TOOL) and Danny Lohner(NIN)? Come on guys! Share this post Link to post
AgentOrange 9 Posted June 29, 2011 The UFC fighter Keith Jardine also made a cameo. My favorite cameo was Jenna Haze but that's probably because I"m addicted to internet porn. Share this post Link to post
saskrotch 1 Posted June 30, 2011 okay, in the scene where venus and orlando show up at the mansion, did anyone else notice a bikini girl running around with one of those collars they put on dogs to keep them from chewing on stitches? [attachment=1975,50] Share this post Link to post
jughead 189 Posted July 2, 2011 Ok, so I'm at home on Friday night and I decided to watch it. Holy shit, this is probably the shittiest movie I have ever seen. It almost felt like they were really trying to make the shittiest movie ever. Share this post Link to post
countofmontefisto 0 Posted July 3, 2011 Love this movie and this podcast, but this was hands-down the weakest entry yet. If I wanted to hear 4 people repeat "That was A-MAZING! - That was fucked up - That was INCREDIBLE! - That was crazy" then I can mention Crank 2 to the meatheads at my officeand hear them yammer on about it. What happened to trying to figure out the motivations for why a film was made. I guess for thisone it was easy; the first one was a success. Then why does it qualify for this podcast? Because Scheer liked it? I bet he likes lotsof movies. What happened to trying to figure out some of the stranger moments/themes? It seemed like when anyone raised a question:What was Chocolate's role, how did the head operate...we just moved right on. No theories about the head being from hell, or howsomeone should have drank a beer out of it. Maybe the gang should just stick to movies that they don't love and think are "incredible!" andare popular films, so we don't have to get is JD Raphael saying "That was Amazing!" dozens and dozens of times. domebrettgelman 0 Posted July 4, 2011 Agree with Jim above. maybe it's better to do a movie that they actually don't like, so they can dissect it. Share this post Link to post
blacklagooner 1 Posted July 12, 2011 http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=Chicken%20and%20Broccoli 1. Chicken and Broccoli 1) The sexual position 69, especially with regards to an Asian couple. 2) A non sequitur, based on the first definition, intended to be used in any particularly exhilarating situation involving Asians, as made famous by Jason Statham's character in Crank 2: High Voltage. Usage:Chinese Husband: How about a little 69, baby?Chinese Wife: You want me to make chicken and broccoli at this hour!? 1 Share this post Link to post
Hobocop 59 Posted October 4, 2011 I originally rented this movie because Mike Patton did the soundtrack.... The score for this film was totally underrated, it works well with the movie but even on its own, it's got some great melodies and is indicative of Patton's more creative side as opposed to his ubiquitous vocal noise type projects. 1 Share this post Link to post

HotDog 2 Posted August 29, 2012 I recently caught Crank 2 on SPIKE. For a movie with fucked up stuff from beginning to end, it was fun and interesting to see what was deemed appropriate and inappropriate for basic cable. Also, I felt like SPIKE cut a couple scenes (likely due to time constraints and not content) that made the movie a little more confusing, which is saying a lot because the Crank universe isn't the most logical. I know it'll sound weird, but it's for these reasons that I recommend watching it on SPIKE to anyone who gets a chance. In response to Jonny Marko -- I absolutely agree about the score being fantastic. I think that the score for Crank 2 played a way bigger role in shaping the movie than the score for Crank 1. It brings a great, 1980's B-movie feel to the film. I disagree with those above who felt this podcast was short on substance. I think they did a great job! I don't care if you're the most sophisticated person on the planet; your unshakeable first impression to Crank 2 is bound to be: "that shit was fucking KA-RAY-ZEE." Share this post Link to post

I don't care if you're the most sophisticated person on the planet; your unshakeable first impression to Crank 2 is bound to be: "that shit was fucking KA-RAY-ZEE." I THINK the studios make their own cuts of their films for use on network or basic cable TV, as I've noticed a lot of cuts in things (especially in older films that pre-date there being a billion different niche cable networks) on channels that have original programming that features more graphic material or harsher language than the edited-for-TV versions. SyFy is like that. You'll see something like "Robocop", which has violence that's pretty brutal but a LOT more acceptable today, that will have memorable bits cut out of it, but then one of the "Saw" sequels will be on later, and it might just have nudity blurred out, but none of the gore will really be missing. Hey, does anyone else remember the bathroom scene from "Dumb and Dumber" being COMPLETELY removed from the TV version back in the late 90's? It used to be on TBS all the time, and it would just be gone. I saw it on Comedy Central not too long ago, and it's there again. As far as cutting for time, I was watching the TV version of the Thomas Jane "Punisher" a couple years back, and while that was a movie that was slow and too long before, it seemed like they cut quite a bit and made it faster-paced to fit into the time slot. They probably did away with or sped up establishing shots and scenes where there's literally nothing going on. Share this post Link to post
HotSaucerman 2051 Posted March 1, 2014 Its funny to read these angry comments from 3 years ago about Crank 2. I loved the original Crank when it came out. I didn't even see Crank 2 until a month or two ago when I caught on to this podcast. But one of the things that I love about HDTGM is that they occasionally drop in some insane movies that are actually fun to watch. Like Fast and Furious 5 & 6... if I hadn't planned to listen to this podcast after watching them, I never would have taken the time to watch Fast 5 and Fast 6. Sometimes we forget how entertaining a well-done, pushing-the-limits action film can be. Hollywood puts out a lot of action movies, and unless we sit down and take the time to watch a few of them, then we might end up overlooking some really great entertainment. And entertainment that ISN'T just another blockbuster comic book superhero movie. Share this post Link to post
Smigg 1488 Posted March 1, 2014 Technically speaking, Crank 2 is actually the third movie. You have Crank 2, and before that, you have Crank, and, believe it or not, Spice World is the first Crank movie. It's right there to see. Share this post Link to post
