    Miami Connection (1987)

I just saw this trailer over the weekend and I thought this gem would make a great episode! It was actually made in the 80's but it was never released in America until now. It comes out next Tuesday and they are releasing it on not only dvd and bluray, but also VHS!!! Here's the trailer: what do you guys think?

    Monster in the Closet

Goofy 80s horror film from the people who brought us The Toxic Avenger. They mark all of the (sometimes non-specific) dates and times using only words (example: nine o'cock instead of 9:00). I'm not sure about Netflix but it's currently streaming on Amazon prime

    Kung Fury

Ok, so this is a already-shot 1980s action comedy throwback that is currently in the midst of a Kickstarter campaign to cover post-production costs. It seems to be currently funded at the moment, so HUZZAH to them. It's about a Kung-Fu-fighting cop who goes back in time to kill Hitler but Vikings interrupt him or something. Anyway, watch the trailer because it is magical and ridiculous. http://www.kickstart...gfury/kung-fury This version of the film is only 30 minutes long, so it probably would be a poor choice for an actual episode, BUT the writer/director/star seems to be an interesting fellow (since he did get this made, at least for the most part) and has a charming Swedish accent, so I think he'd make an excellent guest on the show. The movie seems to be in the mode of Miami Connection, but on more restricted funds, so it'd be interesting to hear how such low-budget films get done and what makes things like Sharknado or Birdemic terrible but Miami Connection worth watching. Cross-promotional opportunities abound.

    Pamela's Prayer

So bad it's hilarious, from the acting, to the writing, to the production. Plot: A creepy dad controls his daughter and orders her to never kiss a boy until she gets married, and to never date. It is outrageous and unbelievable; her friend goes on one date and ends up getting raped, and the dad just sort of nods knowingly, like "Well, that's what happens when you date." When Pamela does get married, they don't even show the kiss, and instead pan to the creepy dad's face! Product Description: This motion picture portrays the unique and heartfelt story of Pamela Bucklin from her birth in 1969 to her wedding day in 1991. It also contrasts two Christian girls and their different outlook toward purity and dating. All of Pamela's friends were dating. She was not. And it seemed unfair that her father insisted on such a high standard of purity. Yes, it seemed unfair...until the day she married. A couple "Second Opinion" review exerpts on Amazon.com: "Finally, a film with good morals AND realistic dialogue. This is no "Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen Visit Grandma's" sappy love-fest. Pam's Prayer tells it like it is. You enter the halls of a real high school and witness the sinful underbelly of teen life." "Her remarkable acting range takes her character all the way from an obedient daughter to a giving wife." "This is a poignant and well-done film about a young Christian girl who considers disobeying her father's command that she never kiss before marriage. Pamela's Prayer is a movie that really stands--almost alone--against the legions of immoral junk films produced by Hollywood's "Kissing Industry.""

    Gattaca

I just watched Gattaca for the first time recently, and it was laughably bad. This was particularly odd, considering the movie's reputation and positive reviews (e.g. 82% on RottenTomatoes). From the plain ol' stupid dialogue to the weird gyroscope machines the character use to exercise, this movie is a disaster. I thought the "space exploration" text book Ethan Hawke reads was a particularly good touch. Definitely worth checking out for some genuine what the fuck moments. My guess is that people like this movie because the plot is pretty interesting, but the movie is just horribly executed.

    Cobra

If nothing else, this movie needs to be recognized for having the weirdest villain motives to their actions. They're a cult who believes their actions will bring about a New World Order, allowing them to rule the world. So what do they do? Kill random people on the street. No political or famous targets, just random citizens. Also, Sylvester Stallone cuts a slice of pizza with scissors and Brigitte Nielsen poses for fashion shoots with robots. You need to see it.
