Nic Cage plays Eddie King Christopher Coppola (Nic Cage's Brother, and Director of Deadfall) plays Buddy King

So I will fully admit that I have not seen this movie, it could be fairly boring I don't know (I vaguely remember seeing the commercials with Cage bench pressing a woman). However Nic Cage, David Caruso and Sam L. Jackson is a powerful combination (Plus the Tucc) and it's about when all three were peaking. I put this up here because I saw that combo of names and that it is coming to Netflix on May 1st, so at minimum I will be watching this movie. Anyone else have any thoughts on it?

I was watching this on TV the other day and all I could think of was how badly I wished I could go listen to a HDTGM right after.

Another Nic Cage, I know. He actually produced this one too. This is "Serious Actor" Nic Cage not "Crazy Nic Having a Good Time" It is the lowest grossing film to debut at #1 since "Dickie Roberts: Former Child Star" It has 8% on Rotten Tomatoes. EIGHT PERCENT. In the middle of filming in Thailand, there was a coup d'etat... and the filming only stopped for 6 hours. Dialogue like "You duck fucker!" . It has everything: Tender love-making.. cool wardrobe.. Very interesting hair.. Windproof hats... And more "cool camera angles" than your average student film... It was a 1999 Thai film made by the Pang Brothers (Danny and ....Oxide. Seriously. His first name is Oxide ). They were an editor and... a colorist. That's right... "Oxide" was a colorist. In the original, the assassin was the deaf-mute. They came to Hollywood and remade with Nic Cage who instead of having himself play a deaf-mute, made the girlfriend be the deaf-mute. (Because, of course.)

I think that it's been far too long since HDTGM did a Nic Cage film. And The Trust is PEAK Cage! OPEN IT! OPEN IT!

This falls into the "tangentially HDTGM related recommendations" category that does not belong in the "bad movies" subforum, but I am not sure where else to put it. Anyway, happened to see the title on the guide and instantly decided to give it a view. They have it on rotation on Showtime, and Showtime on demand so if you subscribe I would definitely suggest checking it out for the following reasons: - Discussion of Nic Cage as Superman - Jon Peters describes himself as a "street fighter" - One of the interviewees has a Zardoz head It's a bit rough around the edges, but it is an interesting look at a movie that got trapped and eaten by the vortex of development hell.

Nic Cage. John Travolta. Both appeared in multiple episodes of How Did This Get Made which makes them the kings of bad movies...and yet, nobody has discussed their epic film together. Do it.

Nothing else to say. Con Air is the epitome of everything an awesomely terrible movie can be. I'm sure you guys are inundated with requests for Nic Cage movies (Bad Lieutenant and Know1ng would be superb choices, as well), but Con Air really just cannot be topped.

I know Jason put a moratorium on Nic Cage movies and that's fine, but I've never laughed so hard at a snuff film before. I was just listening to this episode of Never Not Funny with Andy Daly: http://www.earwolf.com/episode/andy-daly/ and they had a bit where they took turns going into a 7/11 and and asking about a malfunctioning sign at around an hour and thirty minutes in. I don't want to spoil it, it's amazing, but I was thinking how great it would be if Jason, Paul, June and Paul for instance walked into a different porno store one after another, went up to the most fucked up movie they had and then gave the Nic Cage line "do you have anything.....harder?"
