WEdidITagain 458 Posted May 19, 2015 I just saw this video of Chelsea Peretti on Late Night and seeing her hype and excitement for this movie really charmed me, especially since she was not in it and for a second really believed she was. Â https://youtu.be/WVTuvI5iPB0 Â I was thinking that this could be like the Fasts sub-series were it is an overall positive episode where the cast with Chels discuss what they loved. I have a feeling that they would totally be into it, especially with the Rock being in the mix. And it be such a treat to have Peretti back too! Â I haven't seen the movie at all, so don't want to condemn it nor say it's going to be good but I think this movie with this guest are basically perfect and ready to be done into an episode, especially given the crews taste in movie (mostly involving the Rock), what y'all think? 2 Share this post Link to post
Lando 2019 Posted May 21, 2015 If this movie is about how Dwayne Johnson must punch the ground to stop the earthquake then I am all in. 3 Share this post Link to post
PlanBFromOuterSpace 3138 Posted May 21, 2015 If this movie is about how Dwayne Johnson must punch the ground to stop the earthquake then I am all in. That's what I've been saying to folks, like how he's going to punch this earthquake SO hard in its stupid fucking face. I love these kinds of movies where the actions of the protagonists likely have NO bearing on the outcome of anything at all. I'm sure he saves his kid or whatever, but everyone that joins him on his mission will die horribly. 2 Share this post Link to post
WEdidITagain 458 Posted May 22, 2015 Pretty sure the climax of this movie is Dwayne punching the earthquake in its goddamn face. 2 Share this post Link to post

RyanSz 3140 Posted May 25, 2015 I could never really get too much into these types of movies as the destruction was SO massive that it's really futile for the main characters to try and fight. 2012, The Day After Tomorrow, and this movie all just destroy the shit out of the world and it seems like whatever work the protagonist does to help people is negated by the millions dying around them. At least with a crazy destruction movie like Knowing, the main character accepted his fate and died, which was a pretty realistic ending to an otherwise batshit movie. I'll watch this in theaters because like the other destruction fests, the CGI is usually really good and the craziness makes up for the surely depressing realization that the world is doomed no matter what. Plus I really hope the Rock punches the shit outta that douchey earthquake. 1 Share this post Link to post

Yeah, it's almost like as high as the stakes are, there really AREN'T any stakes at all, because what's going to happen is going to happen and the hero isn't going to create an anti-earthquake gun that will end things once and for all or anything. 1 Share this post Link to post
RyanSz 3140 Posted May 25, 2015 Oh dear lord let there be a reverse earthquake gun in this movie that the Rock just stumbles across. 4 Share this post Link to post
Lando 2019 Posted May 26, 2015 Maybe a big fucking gun, model number 9000 or so? 3 Share this post Link to post
EricSteele 0 Posted September 27, 2015 Watching this right now for the first time. It is just BEGGING to be torn apart! Share this post Link to post
JerryGamb 0 Posted October 22, 2015 This is a great movie with the Rock being a total badass. I know you guys love the Dwayne Johnson and it would be so cool if he could do this. Just a thought; anybody agree? Share this post Link to post
JulianneJordan 1 Posted December 8, 2015 When I saw this in theatres I was so excited. It knew exactly what it was. A disaster movie with great effects, great shots of destruction, terrible science and well known actors to sell it all. This movie was so bonkers and I'd love to hear an episode on it. Throughout the movie I could not stop laughing at the ridiculous things happening, even though I was getting weird stares from everyone in the theatre. They just didn't understand how much fun I was having. This is definitely one of those fun crappy movies I would watch over with friends who hadn't seen it yet. Share this post Link to post
jarrycanada 2483 Posted December 8, 2015 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6boljtalKDA Â forget San Andreas, that's the movie they should do, doom. Share this post Link to post
Shampoodler 1489 Posted February 28, 2016 Bumping this, legit the worst written and acted movie I've seen since Independence Day. Love how Dwayne and his wife casually discuss their failed marriage and dead daughter while they're travelling through a totally devastated world like it's nothing. Also there are like 15 random cleavage shots that Jason will love. 1 Share this post Link to post
FisterRoboto 7499 Posted March 24, 2016 This is on HBO right now. I made it through the opening rescue sequence, and I immediately had to make sure this thread existed. There's so much WTF in this movie already. I kind of love it. Â Also, I REALLY hope Carla Gugino's new boyfriend's mega-building is what is causing all the quakes. Share this post Link to post
ElieB 238 Posted March 24, 2016 lol I love this movie so much because of how prominently it figures my 2nd favorite movie trope: an architect and/or buildings are antagonists. Â (my 1st favorite is the villain is bald) Â (im a bald architect) Share this post Link to post
Amy the Gorilla 732 Posted March 25, 2016 I saw this movie in the theater with my mom. We were laughing and whispering jokes as we watched the movie. I feel like the only good parts were Paul Giamatti's, and he was probably phoning it in. It hit every point on a Disaster porn checklist, minus the part where I actually care about any of it, or the people. Share this post Link to post
