So the Z-Machines are a band of Japanese Robot Musicians. The guitarist has 80 fingers and the drummer has 20 arms or whatever. Squarepusher composed some songs for them and there's an EP out. That's all well and honestly not very good, but also not so bad that I would be submitting it.

 

What I am posting here is their first ever live performance in Japan. The first 90 seconds of the video are just pure nightmare fuel.

I adore Juana Molina's music. She was a huge comedy star on Argentinian TV before she gave it up for her first love, music. That can't have been easy considering how unique her sound is.

 

It's unimaginable that U.S. or European stars would allow themselves to be presented in such a funny, silly and playful way as Molina does here. It's only mildly frightening, come on and watch!

Scarlett Johansson is so god damn frustrating as an actress. She's absolutely perfect in movies like Her, Don Jon, Lost in Translation, and she looks great in Under the Skin. Then she does bullshit like this, or even as Natasha Romanoff/Black Widow. I'd buy Jake Fogelnest as the sexy Avengers super-spy before I believed Johansson was Black Widow.

On the subject of people having accidents, back in the early '70s there was a band called Bloodrock who did a song called D.O.A. I was six at the time, and my friends and I were fascinated with and haunted by this song. We'd listen to it like a bunch of ghouls and puzzle over the meaning of the bloody lyrics in the same way we might share a recap of a grisly horror movie or scary nightmare. Listening to it now, it's plodding, pretentious, silly, and funny. It's also an eternal mystery as to how this ever became a national hit at the time.
