FisterRoboto 7499 Posted June 21, 2016 Â This may be sacrilege, but I actually prefer the new cartoon's theme to the old one. My son loves it! *chokes back a sob* Little guy makes me so damned proud... Â http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LNXDORibqkE If I say I don't like it, is it the same as opening up the classic vs new HDTGM theme debate? Â I don't want anything to do with that show just because I hate the way the Turtles look. 1 Share this post Link to post
Quasar Sniffer 4174 Posted June 21, 2016 That Addams Family theme would get me EXCITED as a little kid, since I am old enough to have been around when that show still aired on syndication during the day. My mom would actually sing it to me when I got REAL grumpy. Trying to get a small child to snap on cue is a great means of distraction. Â Though if we are just going on pure joy factor, it's hard to beat the way the Simpsons and Futurama themes still make me feel (even if I'm sure a lot of that has to do with the quality of the openings themselves). firsttimecallerlongtimelistenr 3590 Posted June 21, 2016 nostalgia overload tonight. spent way to much of my day listening to tv themes .. i was gona post some irish kids tv shows but theres no real point so these two should do for today. Â i remember hill street blues as the first cop show i watched as a kid. felt all grown up watching late at night ... you know, at around 9pm ... Â Â Â and then theres the daddy of them all ... Quasar Sniffer 4174 Posted June 21, 2016 Muppet songs are 10/10. It's almost a given to have them in the Greatest of All Time in a variety of categories (e.g. variety shows, theme songs, etc.) Â And, of fucking course, the most masterful, cheesy, and exceptionally 90s of intros. I do love it so.... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rbBX6aEzEz8 Â 8 Share this post Link to post
firsttimecallerlongtimelistenr 3590 Posted June 21, 2016 ohhh shitttt ... going thru all these youtube videos feels like back in the day in record shops flicking thru the vinyls ... NathanGordon 1096 Posted June 22, 2016 Just finished watching Simply Irresistible... This movie was drowning in metaphorical cum. Right? There's at least a dozen scenes of people literally jizzing their pants -- because Buffy's cooking is just that good.  If you haven't seen Simply Irresistible, it sounds like I'm making a joke. I am not. 1 Share this post Link to post
firsttimecallerlongtimelistenr 3590 Posted June 22, 2016 has anyone ever seen the 1966 batman movie ... if you have then you know what i am talking about when i say "the bomb scene" ... god damn that show was so bad and yet so amazing at the same time. i watched that adam west doc on netflix last year. the mans a god damn legend ... Amy the Gorilla 732 Posted June 22, 2016 I think I watched this movie (Simply Irresistible) years and years ago on TV... Near the middle/end? is there a chef guy making some desert and licking his fingers after he touches each one? That's all I can remember because it bugged the absolute SHIT out of me. That's gross dude... Also I could have sworn it was Jennifer Love Hewitt in this movie, not SMG...unless there's a knock-off of this movie with JLH??? Â I jut need to watch the movie and get it over with. 1 Share this post Link to post

"look what i found jon" (my brother had this record, played it over and over again ... ah man ... i gotta stop cutting onions late at night)  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Lfgf9HatIHI  Really love Miami Vice, it if anything had some great music in it. something your not going to see again in tv as along as we have greedy copy right laws. when they released it on dvd they had to change a lot of the songs to other artists covers. I haven't enjoyed a show like this so much since Mr. Robot.   Phil Collins 'In the Air Tonight'.   <--- love this song, sitting on my iphone right now as we speak.I remember it having a lot of great music.  My Favorite shows of all time goes a such,  Miami Vice,  showgun  The Prisoner (Patrick McGoohan, 1967)  Twin Peaks  <--- has a great sound track to check out if you can find it. LOST!  Mr robot.  I have other shows, a lot of tv shows on dvd but those are the ones off the top of my head. taylor anne photo 11311 Posted June 22, 2016 Oh good call on "Fresh Prince of Bel Air," first time caller. Â I bet June likes this one. Â https://youtu.be/hl5ko84RJpQ Seriously that intro prompted me to learn this song on the ukulele because I am ALWAYS SINGING it now (not like I wasn't before but the female cover really sparked an interest to cover it myself) Â ALSO! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0TrGFNLjyog 3 Share this post Link to post
Cameron H. 23786 Posted June 22, 2016 Just a quick detour from the Theme Song discussion: Â While I am always thrilled to have something I've written read on the mini, and I know my joke was terrible, but Paul's reaction to the fact that it was set in rural New York kind of makes me think that he didn't actually "get it." I mean, I'm not trying to say that getting the location will make it a good joke (let's face it, I didn't have much to work with), but it is sort of crucial as far as getting to the punchline. Â Oh well...it was still fun to hear it read. Still wish I could have come up with something for the dead dog one, but honestly, there's no way that can be the punchline to a joke. The fact they were laughing as hard as they were in the movie only proves that all the characters in The BND were a bunch of sociopaths. 3 Share this post Link to post
kjbleu 7 Posted June 22, 2016 I heard you mention Operation Kid Brother on the mini-episode. Great idea! I have seen the MST3K version many times and it would be perfect for you guys to do. I think it's time for a HDTGM / MST3K crossover to discuss this movie. Please try to get some MST3K alums to guest on the show, it would be epic. May I suggest Jonah Ray and Joel Hodgson? Or the Rifftrax gang. With new episodes of MST3K being made it is the perfect time for them to be on the show. Share this post Link to post
tomspanks 9039 Posted June 22, 2016 For instrumentals, Futurama and The Simpsons have been mentioned, so hooray. In addition, I love the Bewitched theme song.  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ISL-9qHaZcg  The Penny Dreadful and Game of Thrones themes are cool too.  Anyone remember the Three's Company, Golden Girls, and Saved by the Bell theme songs?  We should have a March Madness-type tournament brackets of tv show theme songs where the theme with most votes moves onto the next round. 5 Share this post Link to post

ZARATHUSTRA 245 Posted June 22, 2016 I watch most of the movies but this looks bad bad, I think I might sit this one out. Glad I didn't watch Boy Next Door. I also literally didn't know that guy was in anything but Boondock Saints. Hopefully HDTGM never does that movie cause its straightup awesome.  We need to make a list of bad movies HDTGM should never do, I still have a really strong emotional attachment to The Master of Disguise and if HDTGM ever do it I'm gonna be heartbroken.  For themes, I don't think anything even comes close to Cowboy Bebop and I will literally fight anyone who says otherwise. They play that shit live and people still see it, it works as a song and a theme and ima go watch it now its so awesome  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n6jCJZEFIto 2 Share this post Link to post
