I don't believe you even HAVE to sign up for it. They may have changed things if the room is private now but I know a lot of people that just go in as a guest and they give you that little cute bunny photo and you enter in your nickname. All you would have to do is click the link provided and if it prompts you to sign in first then you can create an account and it should take you to the room.
