The Secret is also available for free to stream on hoopla which is a streaming services some libraries use. So, potentially no need to embarrass yourself face to face by borrowing this.

I am relieved to have not won this week. I don’t want to go to war with the Dutch. I was corrected in the original thread, Dutch. Also, I can’t beat maps.

Was anyone else SHOCKED by how VRBO is pronounced? That was the big takeaway from me.

As a father of two, I 100% concur with Paul’s parenting advice. First of all, you’re never going to be in such dire need for unsolicited parenting advice that you actually need to search something out. And secondly, like he said, what works for one child won’t necessarily work for yours. Hell, with everything being equal with my own two kids, I have to adjust how I parent to suit their individual personalities.

Like Paul said, go with your gut. No one will ever understand your children’s little idiosyncrasies like you do. People have successfully raised children before podcasts and parenting books and so can you. Just accept that you’re not perfect and you’re going to fuck up, but as long as your heart’s in the right place, you’l be okay.

So sad news. I just got home from a vet checkup for my darling cat Albus and sadly I had to put him down today. He had two emergency urinary tract blockage surgeries two weeks ago and a new one formed . They were going to keep forming . The vet said I did everything I could and after crying for nearly two hours it's over. I only had him for two years but Ioved him enough for two lifetimes.

I still have his dad Godric and maybe in the fall  I might go back to his breeder because she has another cat that needs to be placed and gets picked on like Godric did.

I'm actually feeling better now ( it might be the migraine meds) but I was wondering what you guys turn to that lifts your spirits besides this podcast?

Albus in case anyone wanted to see him being silly:

@gigi-tastic I’m so sorry to hear of your loss! For me, it’s best to dive into things were I can turn off my mind - so usually dumb TV or movies. Something entertaining enough to keep me from thinking about it, but nothing so heavy that it depresses me further. It doesn’t hurt if it’s a series of something either. Like watch all the Jurassic Parks or something. Kind of a little goal to keep you focused.

Sorry, I don’t have anything more creative, but that’s what works for me.

A podcast I love on Love After Lockup has a new episode out today and they actually mentioned me for posting something so that made me feel good. I think I might watch some tv? I guess I just figured I should be doing something. But honestly I don't really feel like much activity.

Just a heads up, I misheard the the 2nd Question in Ask Paul segment. I’m kinda mortified. I thought she said, her friends who had been together for 18years brokeup and she was upset that she was listed as his emergency contact. Since she wasn’t in the reationship, I asked why are you so angry at him?  Which is a terrible response. That’s what I get for prepping C&Os and answering VMs. We will delete it.

So as a Librarian who orders the DVDs for the collection as well as go through donations for the collection, I can honestly say this hunk of crap isn't in the collection, though I may add it as I tend to put HDTGM movies into the collection. Though I am surprised that this is the first time Duchovny has been on the show, considering some of the dreck he has starred in, not including some of his early TV work like the softcore porn series Red Shoe Diaries.

Sending you all the virtual hugs. I'm pretty close with my cat, Puck, who has been with me through some extremely rough times over the years, so you have my deepest sympathy.

As for what do I do, that's hard. What I don't do is listen to depressing music or even slower music. I find things that bring back fond memories (one thing for me is the soundtracks to the stage musicals Legally Blonde and Newsies). I let trusted friends know what is happening so  if I start to withdraw too much, they will get on me not to. I listen to comedy podcasts, like this one (there's a few others I can recommend).

Again, I'm so sorry for your loss.

Oh gigi-tastic, I am so incredibly sorry for your loss. I lost my main dude, Tiger, in 2015 and it still hurts so I totally understand how you're feeling right now. I'm terrible at taking my own advice but something that I wish I had done that I didn't do was actually take the time I needed because mourning is hard and it's even harder when you don't allow yourself time to do it. I always seem to put my life responsibilities over my mental state and that's definitely not the thing to do lol.

As far as other podcasts that ALWAYS delight me I recommend: Why Won't You Date Me with Nicole Byer, Never Seen It with Kyle Ayers, Dumb People Town, Conan O'Brien Needs a Friend (Matt Gourley is the producer and pops up a lot and it's amazing), 2 Dope Queens (no longer releasing new stuff but their archive is all there and highly recommended), and Sooo Many White Guys.

If you're into spooky stuff then I also recommend (if not then ignore all this): Alice Isn't Dead, Tanis, Bizarre States, Ghosted! By Roz Drezfalez, Lore (pretty heavy but if you love true stories reported throughout the ages this is a fucking amazing podcast), and My Favorite Murder.

Never heard of these, but going by that little info, they sound like they'll be amazing shows

I think this is the Hercules movie I saw as a kid. I remember a local station was airing it and making a very big deal about it airing one time and never again. So, naturally, I begged my parents to tape this once in a lifetime event for me.
