3 pointshi keith van horn, big fan. i always put your name on plastic cups at parties (it varies between you, vlade divac, and shareef adul-raheem). my question this week: how did you come up with your signature long sock look, and why did you continue to stick with it? did you hope to inspire a generation of white basketball players to wear knee length socks?

3 pointshey yall its time for me to chime in here and say enough is enough. please just agree to the earwolf cookie policy because its only there to make the site better and its for you really. i know a lot of you "alt comedy" types are anarchists who dont like to accept policies but ut the politics aside for a minute and do the right thing. for my less tech-savvy readers, you accept the cookie policy by clicking the circle heart in the bottom right corner of this post VVV

2 pointsParking Lot Auckerman is meeting with various future Earwoof podcast hosts at coffee shops all over LA wearing his sunglasses the whole time and when they ask him what to do in their show he puts some thought into it rubbing his chin and tells every one of them as if it's the first time he thought of it, "why don't you try segments?" Smash cut to cloud heaven where God Auckerman is wearing his sunglasses the whole time and this pasty white worm with centipede legs is like, "So... I really want to scare women at picnics and on kitchen floors, bathroom sinks and all that, and I feel like the hundred legs thing is really working for me, but uhh... like, I really need something else to make this whole thing pop." God Auckerman rubs his chin and really puts some thought into it.

2 pointsWe lost Bernie Mac 10 years ago. Here's some really good jokes by him, and also remeber that time when he slaps a surfer on the belly and asks got any wax in Charlie's Angels full throttle http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WsDN5BHp4NE

1 pointAdam Scott Aukerman are back together this week to discuss all of R.E.M.’s collaborations. They also talk about Scott being trapped in a parking lot for hours as The Cure played in concert, the cursing situation at their households, and Prince. Plus, an important update in another episode of “U Talkin’ U2 To Me?”.

1 pointNot as such, but as previously mentioned there are other academic groups that do regular polls on this kind of thing. Sight & Sound (which is run by the British Film Institute) would have the most famous one. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Sight_%26_Sound_Top_50_Greatest_Films_of_All_Time If you're feeling particularly ambitious, there's also one from They Shoot Pictures, Don't They? http://www.theyshootpictures.com/gf1000.htm

1 pointQuentin Tarantino worked in a video store. Did you know that? He's actually like a real fan of cinema. I think Robin Williams worked at a truck stop selling pre-peeled oranges. Ooh, wouldn't this be a great idea for a podcast? We can talk about Hollywood Insider-type stuff and dish on gossip about celebs, and then gradually abandon that concept and it's just without direction or structure and we're also being funny.

1 pointSid Straw and Michael Stipe on "Future 40s (String of Pearls)" which I hadn't heard in 20+ years. And now it's all my brain wants to sing.

1 pointThis episode took me way back to some songs I really liked, and haven't heard in ages. I remember being super into that One Giant Leap song in the '90s, and the Kristin Hersh 'Your Ghost" song that Adam loves and Scott thought boring. Going to dig them back up again, make sure I have them. Also love Hindu Love Gods, so fun... but do wish REM had backed Zevon on something a little more 'official', not just drunken blues jams. That would've been remarkable, I'm sure.

1 pointTwo missing songs that I like: Sam Phillips cowrote the song Slapstick Heart with the 4 for her Omnipop album. Stipend doesn't sing on it, but the others play on the track. Billy Bragg collab on You Woke Up My Neighborhood is one of my favorites. I believe the whole band played. Peter Dollarbill and Stipend are in the video. More Billy: I had a Billy Bragg tour VHS tape that had a version of John Prine's Hello in There as performed by Stipend and Natalie Merchant, with Bragg on guitar. There's a crappy version of it on Youtube:

1 pointReally great ep per usual. Was hoping to hear some of Peter Dollarbill's excellent work with Robyn Hitchcock both guesting on the Egyptians records and in the band The Venus 3. Stipend also sings on at least two of Hitchcock's songs Dark Green Energy (https://youtu.be/5sWLgVaL0CY) and She Doesn't Exist (https://youtu.be/Pp63e_UfSOo). Keep up the good work. You edify so completely.

1 pointMore on the parking lot universe please. Is Mitch good or even just okay at talking and jokes in the parking lot? Scared to imagine parking lot Bosch cuz he's just so good and perfect as he in our universe.

1 pointOof, this movie definitely needs to be done. If you asked Renny Harlin to rewrite Hackers, but make it cool, throw in a little Pierce Brosnan James Bond and give it Matrix special effects and an M. Night Shyamalan twist ending Swordfish is what he would come up with. I can't remember what movie it was, but someone here described a movie as "everyone is an asshole" and I think that applies to this movie 100%. Everyone in this movie is an asshole and Travolta is king asshole.
