I know it's unfair to complain about a free podcast, and I know that June has been off working and/or doing promotional stuff for Unfinished Business, but the June-less episodes are missing a certain je ne sais quoi. Zouks' continued calling anyone who floated an insane theory about the movie "June" helped, and I still laughed, but still.

When Stellar Skateboard's character is airlifted out and the helicopter crashes, why isn’t a second rescue team sent out? I imagine the hospital or airport they are working for would wonder what happened to their rescue team. Was there no concern that they lost contact with their people? Where’s the rescue team for the rescue team?

I'd like to mention that Rise of the Planet of the Apes is essentially the same premise. Alzheimer drugs make animals too smart, animals get real mean, and I actually do consider James Franco a modern day Saffron Burrows. While the lack of actual June was a let down, they could not have picked a better All-Star than PFT. He was, as always, hilarious and perfect. Evan Goldberg was a good guest, too. I liked having 1 person genuinely defending the movie. This may end up being one of my favorite episodes, even though it gets a C- at best for host attendance.

Omitted: I wish they had talked about the line “I’m not that kind of doctor.” I think it was said after they are letting Stellar Skateboard bleed out without a tourniquet, or any attempt to stop his bleeding.

 

Also, I think Tom Janes outfit was a nod to Burt Reynolds in Deliverance. Both the characters dress the same, are surrounded by water, and fight things that are genetically mutated.

Not to mention that apparently about 90% of Thomas Jane's dialog had to be water based metaphors. For example:

"Someone on the water who wouldn't make waves."

I totally agree. June's POV is indispensable for the show in my opinion.

I think an opportunity was missed to compare LL Cool J's Deepest Bluest with Puff Daddy's seminal classic Come With Me from the previously on HDTGM 1998 hit Godzilla, which is rapped from the POV of Godzilla and of course contains the lyrics 'I wanna fight you, I'll fucking bite you, can't stand nobody like you'.
