SeaSkunk 212 Posted January 14, 2018 I ended up spoiling myself and getting a DVD for 9.99 on Amazon with The Howling 1 & 2. Not too bad all things considered. Â But not The Howling 3: The Marsupials? 2 Share this post Link to post
sycasey 2.0 2301 Posted January 14, 2018 Im sorry, but I haven’t had a chance to listen to the mini yet. I was looking for the movie. Did Paul mention if it was available to stream anywhere? I’ve only seen it on iTunes (for purchase) for 15 bucks!  You can rent it on Vudu. I signed up for an account just to rent this movie, and found that for your first rental, Vudu gives you a 99¢ special rate. Score! 4 Share this post Link to post

Score!  Thanks! I’ll keep that in mind for next time. The movies are supposed to arrive today. My main thing is I really want to get rid of all DVD’s/Blu-Rays/CD’s from my life - no one needs that kind of clutter. However, I do have a specific section of just Halloween movies in hard copy, so it’s cool. I’ll just put these there and make them a part of that tradition.  I didn’t even think to try Vudu, though. Hopefully, more people will be able to participate now 1 Share this post Link to post
Cameron H. 23786 Posted January 14, 2018 I really wish they hadn’t already recorded the episode, because my copy of The Howling 2 just came in and I really feel like it deserves an Amazon review. It arrived quickly, it was adequately bubble wrapped, and the packaging was perfectly sealed.  5 STARS!!! 6 Share this post Link to post
Quasar Sniffer 4174 Posted January 14, 2018 I've never see Howling II and this gives me the perfect opportunity to revisit the original, which I haven't seen in probably 10 years. It definitely suffers from the vicissitudes of fate in that it is one of the best werewolf movies ever made... but was released four months before the greatest werewolf movie ever made, American Werewolf in London, which is one of my all-time favorite horror films, and one I've re-visted probably 6 times since I saw The Howling. I'm excited! 3 Share this post Link to post
taylor anne photo 11311 Posted January 15, 2018 i know ... i'm getting boring now but there are so many readily available shite movies out there ... fingers crossed the movies picked in 2018 will be easier to find. another episode to skip till i can find it on dvd #NobodyIsListening I'm still standing with you in solidarity man, and I'm even in the US so I can't even imagine how hard it is for you in Ireland (and Cam Bert in Japan) to find this shit lol. Not to beat a dead horse but my budget is literally so meticulously planned that this is why I can't do a monthly sub to stitcher premium so yeah I can't exactly go on and get a movie I know I won't like for $15. Â I legit can only see movies in theaters because I keep getting gift cards lol! 3 Share this post Link to post
Cameron H. 23786 Posted January 15, 2018 Both Sycasey and Muttnik have given some free options. Do either of those work for you two? Â Also, if you don't mind watching with strangers (I do), but the Reddit does a viewing on Thursdays via rabb.it. It might be worth checking out. (Although I doubt that works for First Time based on the time difference). 3 Share this post Link to post

I legit can only see movies in theaters because I keep getting gift cards lol! Luckily for me there is still somewhat of a healthy video rental market in Japan. iTunes and Amazon can be okay but if I couldn't rent and had to stream it'd be a nightmare. Luckily I still have a VCR too which helps sometimes too.  The other weird problem I've encountered is sometimes some movies just don't come here. Both Bratz and Gooby come to mind as movies that to my knowledge and looking just didn't come here. Luckily I was able to get a very helpful and kind person to stream Bratz on rabb.it for me but with time differences I can't always count on that being the case. 3 Share this post Link to post

I remember hearing about the Reddit viewings but I've never been able to make one. Maybe I'll try this week. 3 Share this post Link to post

I legit can only see movies in theaters because I keep getting gift cards lol! Honestly, I'd prefer them picking shitty movies in theaters. It's cheaper than $15 unless a bunch of people get together and chip in a few bucks.  I get not limiting yourself to free movies (or free on common services like Netflix, Amazon Prime, YouTube, etc.). Not everyone has the same services. So, even a free movie on Prime might mean I personally have to pay to stream it. I also get that some people can't even afford an extra couple bucks every two weeks but I don't think it's too bad.  Obviously, you don't need to see the movie to listen. Loads of people have no qualms with piracy. Loads of people have more money than I do and think nothing of $15. I don't want to sound super harsh but I think it's a bit outrageous to request. 3 Share this post Link to post

joel_rosenbaum 1269 Posted January 16, 2018 You can always try you local library for these movies, too. Was about to recommend this. CLP has *two* copies of this movie, but both are currently checked out. I know there are some Pittsburghers 'round here... 1 Share this post Link to post
SeaSkunk 212 Posted January 16, 2018 My libraries have a heartbreaking lack of 80's movies for me to "enjoy". Â Sidenote - Any comedy podcasts you guys would recommend? Right now I listen to: - How Did This Get Made - My Dad Wrote a Porno - Little Podcast on the Prairie - Wait Wait Don't Tell Me - Says You - The Read - Welcome to Nightvale 1 Share this post Link to post

Cockney Mackem 514 Posted January 16, 2018 Paul made the same mistake as so many Americans: assuming all quality British series are from the BBC. Black Mirror and The End of the Fucking World were both commissioned and broadcast by Channel 4, which like the BBC is publicly owned and has a remit for original and challenging programmes as part of its licence, but unlike the BBC is funded through advertising. Father Ted I have seen repeatedly cited as a BBC show. Again, it was Channel 4.  That would be an ecumenical matter 1 Share this post Link to post
Cameron H. 23786 Posted January 16, 2018 That would be an ecumenical matter  Yes. I suppose it would! That's a good point, Father. 2 Share this post Link to post

It's just the right amount of spooky and really good storytelling. Their other show The Black Tapes just ended and it ended fucking horribly so I'm praying that Tanis doesn't become the same bull shit because I really love it. OH AND OF FUCKING COURSE! Alice Isn't Dead!!!!!!! It's the same people as WTNV and it literally fills me up with joy! Â Others I think you'd like include - Spontaneanation (spelling may be off but it'll probably pop up as you enter in "Spont") Bizarre States 2 Dope Queens The Jackie and Laurie Show I Was There Too The Dork Forest I have a bunch more if you're interested but these are primarily what I think you would enjoy based on what you said you already listen to! 4 Share this post Link to post
