Oooh ok. I didn't realize I was so close to being up! My brain has been in easygoing Rom-Com mode this weekend, since I watched two Netflix ones (Set It Up and To All The Boys I Loved Before - both are very cute) and made plans to go see Crazy Rich Asians later this week. So the first one that pops in my head is in a similar vein.
Also, college or boarding school, I wasn't even allowed a hot plate in the residents hall. Someone apparently missed freshman orientation if he thinks it's ok to experiment with lasers, accelerant, and whatever other crazy shit he had.
I stumbled across the Earwolf page on Reddit somehow when I was searching for something on the Google. (Is it weird that I just found out about Reddit? What a shitshow.) Someone posted about the 200th episode coming up and it also made me wonder if Paul will have something big. Maybe something highly demanded? Maybe an all stars of all stars cast? (St. Clair, Nick Kroll and Mary Holland please!) Maybe Jason finally joins Twitter?
Anyone hoping for a big celebration? Because CBB usually gets something special for the milestone episodes, I'm hoping this one will be epic, too.
P.S. I'm on vacation and in full Murphy's law mode... When I try to enter this forum from the Italian wifi I get a "you are banned" message I had to go to a neighboring town just to write this... So if you don't mind I want swap places to have my M.M. pick the first week of September so I can fully participate
Thanks you so much in advance
I saw this not knowing that it was based on Oliver Twist and to me every plot point is rushed... I wanted more songs and did not find the inconsistent animation bothersome just wandering why the producers of the movie decided that was the way to go?
You should watch The Guernsey Literary & Potato Peel Pie Society because it's also very romantic and cute and has my two faves Lily James and Michiel Huisman in it and I'm now obsessed with this movie (just ordered the book off amazon too lol).
I really enjoyed DI, but Neff's behavior was maddening sometimes. It's frustrating to see smart people doing dumb stuff. Like the scene where Keyes was telling Neff about the time he almost proposed to a woman, but then his gut told him to check her background. Why didn't this anecdote make Neff pause and think?
The following year he was in this movie Wanted: Dead or Alive with Rutger Hauer in which he plays terrorist Malak Al "Rahim" who is being tracked down by CIA agent Nick "Randall". Both kinda close to Ram-K and Ramsay.
I think you may be on to something.
In case you haven't seen it yet: Laura.
I can only assume it's somewhere on the AFI List. Speaking of soundtracks, it has a great one. The theme song ("Laura") has become a jazz standard. Gene Tierney was arguably the most beautiful Hollywood star of the decade.
It casts a spell, and there are definite thematic overlaps with both DI and All About Eve.
The Big Sleep is also classic, especially if you're into movies with inscrutable plots.
I was out for Korean BBQ last night with a group of friends of which three are 6 months to 3 months pregnant and before we ordered there was a long conversation over what they can and can not eat and how well the meat they eat should be cooked. It just gave me horrible flashbacks of this movie.
