I just noticed Disturbing Behavior on the list - is that the one with Katie Holmes as a goth girl who goes around saying "razor" as a synonym for "cool"? And Barry Watson I think? That would make a decent podcast episode.

There is a fascinating book about Heaven's Gate by one of the producers. I read it before seeing the film for the first and only time I saw it, 25 years ago or so. Not sure which cut it was, it was split over 2 VHS tapes, and it felt like ages.

The second link is for the Seattle show.

Yeah, it fell down a few pegs for me after this recent rewatch. I still think it's worthy of staying on the AFI 100 (seems pretty essential to see at least once), but some of the didactic writing hurts, and I don't find the Holden-Dunaway romantic subplot at all convincing. But the acting and Lumet's direction are pretty great, and of course the themes of the movie are evergreen.

Oh, no doubt. But there is some egregious overacting from everyone. If it's taken as satire though, then all the over-the-top stuff fits. I was responding to the take in the podcast (I think it was from Paul) that this movie might not be meant as satire. I think you have to take it as satire...otherwise it has issues.

Just a quick note: I took this photo in San Francisco a few years ago. It's one of my favorite finds from wandering the city.

Is there any way they can not do this movie, given the old running joke with the show and all? They pretty much have to, Also, 5% on Rotten Tomatoes, with only one positive review out of 19. That said, they'll probably have to wait until it's out on streaming./DVD. The movie has only been out for about 6 days and isn't playing anywhere near me, and I live in a mid-sized market. Also, if they do it, it should come with a side note of "If you've never seen the good version. watch that one first, so this one doesn't ruin it for you."

Because I'm an aesthetic bitch I have to organize all my physical media by the cover color. My DVD shelf looks like a rainbow and it makes me very very happy. No one else usually goes to my shelf to find specific things, but I know where everything is because I've memorized these DVD covers so that's all that matters to me. I put my books up by genre and keeping the series together, but someday I may switch that to colors as well.

I'm worried that Paul doesn't understand how chests are actually measured. He mentions that the McLaren is generously 80 inches wide, measuring from one end of the interior to the other, and that The Rock is about 50 inches while Statham is 41 inches, but I'm very worried that they do not know when you are measuring your chest you measure around your body. It's the circumference that gives you that number. There's no way that those measurements make sense if you are measuring their chests from arm pit to arm pit alone. That would mean that The Rock's width from arm pit to arm pit would be over 4 feet long. That's literally not possible, y'all. Any woman getting measured for a bra knows this lol.

Seeing that we are maybe getting a show about LOL, why not the all time classic. The Hottie & the Nottie (2008) with Paris Hilton I am sure it's shit too. but I haven't watch it yet. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OAU8ArXlWQw Why the hell not!
