Boxes labeled as boxes, homeowner tips, and more on this week's mini episode! Paul offers up advice on the Help Line, goes through Corrections and Omissions for Swordfish, and shares a Paul Pick of the Week. Plus, we announce our next movie!

They should absolutely do this movie. I think they're almost guaranteed to get to it eventually barring a potential situation where they might not cover it because they might know Fred Savage personally. I'll offer up a weird defense of this movie. As someone who grew up in the same era as all these games coming out I think this movie was the first one I saw where it didn't portray the people playing video games as being essentially agoraphobic and by the end of the movie they've more often than not learned some moral that playing videogames is some character flaw. Everyone just liked playing video games in this movie, all the kids played them even Fred Savage who was portrayed as the cool kid. Even Slater and Beau Bridges are into games by the end. And the climax of the movie is a grand moment where playing Super Mario 3 saves the day. I think it was the first movie that made me not feel shamed for playing videogames as a kid.

I think the scene is entertaining and, for two modern comedic icons of the same era, I think this is their only time together other than some SNL skits. But Bill Murray doesn't relate to any main characters. He barely talks to Seymour. We don't learn anything valuable from him. For all it does for the story or characters, you might as well cut in one of his monologues from Caddyshack. If you want something that really reinforces the villainy of the dentist (which this scene does), I think more dialogue with Audrey explaining how little she enjoys BDSM would be way more effective. If you cut it from the movie and showed it to someone for the first time, no one would ask for more of the dentist. I also think the humor is a bit different from everything else we see. It's not that it isn't funny; it's that it's unrelated to the rest of the movie. But I realize this is a controversial take on this section of the movie.

I will agree that the ending—in both the play and the movie—would have been better if it had been a mix: Audrey gets tragically eaten, Seymour escapes but it doesn’t matter because then you establish that the earth is fucked. That’s what shocked me when I saw the play—I figured Audrey was gonna die but was blown away when Seymour gets killed, too. It is an insanely downbeat ending but the play is VERY faithful to the plot of the original movie. I’ve seen this so many times I can recite dialogue, but still the scene where Audrey squeaks when Seymour tells her he named the plant Audrey Ii made me laugh nonstop for the better part of a minute. It’s too bad Ellen Greene didn’t appear in more comedies—she fucking nails it!

Oh man. My wife and I saw this show live. We've been waiting a year plus to hear it again. So excited!

A few weeks ago, in preparation for this episode, I nearly bought 2:22 because it was on sale for cheap, but I decided against it because it was on Hulu. I’m really grateful they released this now while it’s still available to stream

I like that they released this today - which is Halle Berry's birthday!

Recently watched the 1989 academy awards skits that destroyed Allan Carr's career. And was pleasantly surprised to see the older brother included in a pretty cringeworthy routine.

ZOMG YES. Do this movie! And if you do, as added bonus, my friend has volunteered to talk to you about it if you want insider insight. She worked on this film for two years, on location and on set, as one of the people who built the kangaroos! (She can also talk about Batman & Robin, Passion in the Desert, and a bunch of other films!)

I was hanging out with my roommate and her boyfriend and they were trying to pick out a movie before going to bed. I had them put in this movie. Best moment is when her boyfriend figured out what the movie was about. What can I say? I'm really good at setting the mood for couples. But yes, this would be perfect for the podcast.
