100% agree, and thought of you when I saw an article pop up on Slate today talking about just how obnoxiously awful Skin was. Whether it was worse than Green Book is debatable. Acutely worse, yes. But Green Book lasts 2 hours and 15 minutes. I finally saw how Green Book addressed *cough, cough* Dr. Shirley's sexuality, and even that was turned into a fucking "Tony Lip to the rescue. Isn't he such a great hero!" scene. I mean it with heart when I say fuuuuuuuuuuuuuck both these movies.

For the film! Byrne has said he got the Talking Heads to indulge in his new songs for his movie

I was totally taken with Annie and "Dream Operator". I'm disappointed she disappeared after the dinner. Spalding came back but I don't remember her or the kids coming back. I did laugh at them not talking to each other directly. I liked how The Narrator emphasized that. Something like "They haven't talked to each other in years." then realizing what that implies, adding "Not directly anyway." I started watching the movie at 9:30 p.m. and it was so slow at the beginning I wound up turning it off during Spalding's dinner-table sermon. I picked it back up from the beginning the next day and am glad I did. I went ahead and bought the movie because I am sure I will watch it again. It's one you can put on and "listen" to while doing other things and you kind of watch the movie in your mind. Dream Operator is still my favorite song with Wild, Wild Life second. I didn't even get that it was John Goodman until he got up on stage. Also, were all the songs previously written and used here or were they written for this movie? I saw Wild Wild Life on Youtube as an official video and it was just the movie without the DJ's intro. In the credits every song seemed to be listed as a video so I got confused (easily done, but still).

I probably won't revisit this movie, but don't get me wrong, while I wasn't entertained by it, I still appreciate it on an...artistic level? I didn't know anything about David Byrne before this, but what the movie has taught me is that David Byrne is a fucking weirdo and we need those people like that making movies.

Wild Wild Life video (I didn't recognize Sam KInison either until I read the IMDB trivia). Also, is it David Byrne at 0:50?

Omg the flute hook in Road Song reminds me of the intro to Mr Sandman but in a minor key lol.

There is also a very bland toffee flavored gluten free cookie, which I eat because my immune system is stupid and doesn't want me to be happy. I think part of the joy of Girl Scout Cookies, aside from helping girls, is that you order them and you forget about it and then like a month later they show up like magic. Otherwise you could just buy cookies at the store, you know? also, you can eat an entire box of cookies yourself in one sitting and not feel bad about yourself--BECAUSE YOU'RE HELPING YOUNG GIRLS. Re: the Harry and Meghan thing. I saw this at B&N yesterday. Their eyes are following me.

Also, since this whole thing was started because I was hyperbolic with my "a lot" and I realize that can do someone in when there's not "proper evidence" to back that up I just want to say that I am not stepping off of my stance that I think this man is a terrible person. I'm allowed an opinion on someone's character and his does not add up to a glowing review from me.

I saw a couple more but it's along the same lines (and I didn't look at the date of them so they could have been before the apology), but honestly I would have to say Islamophobia and blatant racism is more than a few bad actions. Also his entire story of his father is a fabrication and typical Hollywood whitewashing. Shirley's family has come out and talked about how nothing this man has said is true. Nick's father was racist and Shirley fired him almost immediately because he was the worst. Covering up racist actions in our history to make white people feel better is just as bad in my opinion.

If there's still time to record it, they should have HAC back for tomorrow's p. version. She was great fun

Yes. All the little interstitial and background music is very lovely. Again all David Byrne. For me this is a movie that works well on repeat viewings. Once I saw it the first time I kinda got the feel and tone and knew what to expect and the second time could notice little things that I missed or small lines that are great that I missed the first time. However, I was feeling it the first time I watched it, so if you weren't I don't suspect repeat viewings would improve much.

I listened to both and decided the soundtrack from the movie was for me. I needed Dream Operator sung by Annie McEnroe (and with more pedal steel guitar!) and Road Song.

My boyfriend and i have been watching and listening to Stephen and Conan since the start of our relationship. This episode was deep, rich, and hilarious. Satisfaction like a scotch in a snowstorm, ir the feeling of finally coming home. I laughed. I cried. I felt it in my bones.

God bless the Boston Dreamland Wax Museum! After admonishing them with my heartbreak, they looked deep within their souls. They did not like what they saw and so they've pulled themselves out of the fire by relenting to include a Conan figurine in their halls. Blessed day!

Oh Andy Richter for sure. Even back in the '90s I always looked forward to the moments in the show when Conan and Andy just chat. Also clearly 'Conan O'Brien Needs A Friend' is just a subtweet at Andy. But I also do kind of hope the show expands if it continues to not just be comedians - Conan's always been a good interviewer with musicians since he's such a big fan, for instance.

I've been loving all the episodes but this one made me laugh out loud particularly hard. Dana is one of those folks who seems under-appreciated somehow. Maybe it's just because he's not as in the spotlight as he once was. But he takes such joy in comedy, it really is contagious!

http://www.rottentom...ause_i_said_so/ Non stop Diane Keaton slapstick. An embarrassing and regretful performance punctuated with a few musical numbers! Mandy Moore has never been less likable, nor the men she dates more forgettable. I only saw the last hour or so of this movie and I saw three cakes get comically destroyed.
