I sort of have a Prince story. Not sure if I should tell it but I will, you guys just be cool. I used to work at a book publisher and we did a book with him. And the contracts person told me that his reps asked that the book contract be printed on purple paper. She said she didn’t have any and I was like, you better get some. But I think she told them no. And this makes me sad. Especially since he died. Like was it too much to go to Office Max and get some colored paper? I bet I would have made the end of his life better.

Wow. I tried to watch this movie for the virtual live show (it's probably the only live show I'll get to attend) but i noped out of there after the first 10 minutes because everything about it was driving me to anger. If I kept watching, it would drive me to hate this podcast and I DON'T WANT THAT! It actually hurts my eyes with how jarring the CGI is. My boyfriend has been asking "what is a jellicle?!?!?" For the entirety of the 10 minutes we watched. I'm afraid we'll never know. Unless we, y'know, like, google it or something.

Hey guys! I wanted to invite you all to take my post movie survey of Under the Cherry Moon. This is intended to be done after watching the actual movie, not listening to the episode. I make these surveys every week for a group of my close friends after our weekly Bad Movie Monday and they seem to like doing them. I have a lot of time on my hands lately and thought I would start doing them for HDTGM movies and see if it catches on. I will release the results around the time of the next mini episode and then do the next movie! It's a fun way for HDTGM fans to get more involved in the movies, be creative, and make each other laugh. Hope you enjoy! Link: https://forms.gle/67AZ7uuFDqWm2L2s6

I wish they had talked about the bizarre premiere that this movie had because it is so in-line with how bizarre Under The Cherry Moon is. MTV held a contest for one lucky winner to host the premiere in their hometown. The winner, Lisa Barber, was from Sheridan, Wyoming...not exactly a big city able to handle the logistics of hosting a movie premiere and a concert by Prince and the Revolution. The whole thing was a mess, but came together, much like Under the Cherry Moon. In fact, it was so wild, the story was optioned to become a film starring Elizabeth Banks, but that’s unlikely to happen now. The whole wacky story can be found here: https://ultimateprince.com/prince-under-the-cherry-moon-premiere/

I take affront with Jason saying Purple Rain is a better movie. Under a Cherry Moon is by FAR the better film. Maybe I just really hate The Kid the character he plays in Purple Rain but I always feel like it's just a depressing watch except for the music parts. Oh and seeing that lady get thrown in a dumpster. That will never not be so crazy it doesn't delight me.

Quick correction as I’m listening, Paul says during the scene where Prince buys flowers that “he doesn’t even attempt to speak French.” That he just points at the flowers and says, “ugh, ugh, ugh.” However, Prince is actually speaking French here — even if it’s pretty remedial. The French word for “one” is “un.” By pointing at the bouquets and saying “un,” he’s essentially saying, “One of those, one of those, and one of those.” It’s a super easy mistake to make with American ears, and he doesn’t say “please” or “thank you,” but I felt like it was worth pointing out that Prince *was” making an effort.

Ha. I watched all but the last ten minutes of the movie but ran out of time before the show. Its one of the wackiest movie I’ve ever seen. Seriously how did this get made though.

I really want to read the results of these so bad. I love a quiz or survey

I posted it before, but I’ll say it again: it’s fine, but not great. It definitely sounds like Jason and June are less than enthused about the whole idea. I feel like the money is going to a good cause, so it was worth it for me and the episode itself was kinda beside the point.

RLM also did a review. Talk about a crossover that I would LOVE with HDTGM! Their review is here

So today I learned that the world has so far been denied the crossover that we all need at this time, Transformers vs. Jason Voorhees. Both series take place in the cinematic universe as Michael Bay admitted that Megan Fox's douchebag boyfriend from the first Transformer movie is the same character and actor that is the douchebag boyfriend in the Friday the 13th reboot from 2009. All we would need is for Jason to know that Decepticons were banging, which let's just admit that they were given that this is a Michael Bay series, and he would wipe them out with ease.

iOS chrome didn't work for me. I had to access the download link from iOS Safari.

I enjoyed the Bad Boys films for the set piece action scenes as well as the chemistry between Will Smith and Martin Lawrence, and The Rock is great and one of the rare Bay films with an actual plot and story the viewer can get behind as well as a cast stacked with great character actors that Cage and Connery can work off of. Armageddon is definitely a movie that should be covered by the show for its so-bad-it's-good nature and I legit love Pain & Gain as it's a pretty decent adaptation of the real life incident, albeit Bay softened the outcome for some of the victims, where the real life counterparts fared a lot worse. Every thing else of I've either seen once and that was enough or I've avoided like the plague.

Another good one is a racing documentary called "1" that looks back to the most dangerous era in grand prix racing and the efforts made to improve the almost nonexistent safety features of 1960s racing.

FYI the downloaded file seems to delete itself after 24 hours, at least on iOS it does. Didn’t get to finish the episode before it was gone for good.
